I dont think youll need 4WD auto here. When you go up to the mountains, use 4HI. Youll be fine, I do it all the time and theres no binding when you actually need it.

Trick with snow is really about how gentle you drive. If youre sliding then you are either accelerating too fast, braking too hard, taking turns agressively, or driving too fast.
Yes even though we got the car in November I took it up the mountains many times. Had 18" of snow over night on one of the trips. R3 conditions went into effect. Beautiful and fun. I am still going to get selec-trac on my 2022.

Cause why not right?. Better to have it than to not have it.

Haha yeah! 4HI worked fine. Even 4LO was used a few times to get unstuck. It would just be nice on the way up or down the moutain to leave it in 4HI auto and let it do its thing. For the deep stuff, I will stick with standard 4 Hi.

One other thing to think about for ordering a 2022, is that you may want to wait until August when the press release for 2022 comes out. Last year they announced some new special editions. If you are going to wait until September to get a 2022 built and delivered for a June order. Unless you absalutely know that you want a Sport S, Sahara, Rubicon etc. that is on June order guide. it might be worth the wait until late September to have a clearer picture of 2022 models.

@alksion I know you are hoping for the Uconnect 5, I just noticed it is in the Grand Cherokee L as an 8.4". So there is no need to redesign the dash, hvac etc. In the Wrangler to fit it. I was not thinking we would get it since I thought I read the minimum size was 10", but according to the Grand Cherokee L that is not the case. I placed an order for a 2021 Eco Diesel Rubicon, but hear I may get bunped to a 2022. If thats the case I may not be to upset

Yes I’m really hoping. I’m waiting for the announcements just a few weeks away. I really want uConnect 5! Let’s hope it makes it’s way into the 2022s!

I could not wait any longer lol. I was told by more than 1 dealer that the 2021 allocations are thin, and there is a good chance due to all my options I may get bunped to a 2022 anyways. I wanted to make sure I was at least one of the first 2022s in case it is bumped, or best case ill get mine a few months sooner. With the timing though i will be able to swap to a 2022 if there are any changes I cant live without even if mine does make the 2021 cutoff since the builds are taking quite a while anyway. I figured its almost like an insurance policy to get my order in now vs. waiting until June.

What if there are changes though to MY2022 that require you to re-order?

Well, my plan is not foolproof for sure lol. There is not many options i could add as I have already selected almost everything except leather and advanced saftey. I would re-order if it was for some new options I had to have, but if my 2021 gets delayed to a 2022 you can get a priority code so will still be an early build

That’s cool :) I really want my wrangler now but I’m trying to be patient. Wish something would leak.

I sold my 2020 JLUR in October with the thought I could get a Bronco or Wrangler Mojave by now. Neither is possible so I could not hold off any longer. I have already missed out on an amazing fall, winter and spring of wheeling here in AZ and want to make sure I am 100% ready by end of summer this year.

I can imagine. My wife has a 21 Sahara Altitude and I’ve been getting great use of that since November so I can wait. If I had nothing, I would agree.

Similar for me, I sold my 2 door in December thinking I would've gotten something by now, and I just couldn't wait anymore once Gecko came back, I didn't want to lose out on the color. Im hoping to be D1 Monday
