Yep and dealers like that will burn. Loyal customers see that they are price gouging and don't care about them as a customer. Not a good sales tactic for the future. I will never buy anything from a dealership that price gouges. Ever!! Boycott. I'll stick to the dealership that sell for under invoice.
They used to be a really good dealership to the point I thought they messed their math up quoting my trade in and final price on my Ram. Then it got sold and they are the worst both sales and service. They tried telling my daughter her TJ needed a steering column because that stupid plastic key index that breaks on all of them was bad. I told them to park it outside and I would put the $40 part in myself, which I did. They called me because I filled out a local price check on an online page. I told them what I wanted knowing that I wouldn’t buy from them. They said MSRP nothing off. I said OK and moved on.

Now what would make sense would be a 60k V8 Jeep (as you said) that had a non-removable top that could carry plenty of gear. A beefier suspension and frame that could tow over 5,000 lbs. A vehicle designed to take into long expeditions. Like the V8 toyota land cruiser F series offered in remote parts of the world.
I've said for years that Jeep should bring back the Grand Wagoneer built on top of the Wrangler platform with a fixed roof. But they blew it with the oversized cherokee thing they have now.

But along that same line, I think something like the JK Africa Concept would be sweet with the 392.

Pretty sure you can spec a new C8 Corvette for $62k!! Thats about what this 392 Jeep should cost!!?
In the first place no, you can not get one at that price. Yes you can get one close, probably around $67K (absolutely bare bones, no options). And, you will wait until the end of 2022 to get one if you order now. They are bringing a premium right now, many dealers that have inventory are charging $25-$35K over MSRP. Used are going OVER MSRP. Bottom line is if you want a C8 right now, and don't want to wait over a year for your ordered unit, yes they are that far out, you are going to pay a healthy premium.

That's only because of the pandemic. Once everything is back to normal you'll be able to pay the $62k. Plus because it's so new. The Hellcat was the same way when it first came out. That didn't last long. I'm only talking msrps here. Not about dealer mark ups and the crooks that they are!

14 pages and no pics of this stripper? How am I supposed to judge if she's over priced?
For the price of the 392 Jeep hopefully there's one in the back that comes with it. Lol.

One parting thought because this thread is teetering towards going off the rails-

If Stellantis offers a cheap* 392 jeep in the future it will be because of some combination of the following factors:

1. to drum up interest in later years of the JL, if sales start to slide
2. To respond to competition
3. Because the tooling and R&D is a sunk cost at this point; might as well squeeze every last drop out of it before the JM
4. Change in regulatory environment
5. Change in corporate leadership
6. Change in public’s perception of climate change, gas-guzzlers, etc. leading to point 4 above (remember the Hummer H2 and H3? Public perception did a number on that particular GM brand)
7. Change in availability or price of oil
8. Any factors which positively influence supply chain (i.e. a chip “surplus” so to speak, but not necessarily limited to chips, and this would have to be massive)
9. Any combination of the above

*Cheap being defined- roughly- as the cost of a current Rubicon plus the cost of a crate 392, plus a few thousand. So maybe $56k minimum.

I would too, but only if it could be spec’d with two doors and manual transmission... so not gonna happen sadly.

That applies to the rumored turbo I-6 too btw.

Lol most of OPs threads are about him wanting to pay less for any model wrangler.

trust me @JeepViking13 we all want to pay less too. but Jeep has no trouble selling anything they make. the demand is there. Why would they lower their prices? we cant always get what we want, doesnt work that way.

we were hoping Fords competition would bring us things like what you post. a willys with a rear locker, a willys with front dana 44, a cheaper 392, a cheaper rubicon, etc... but Ford seems to be a royal mess unfortunately.

Fords competition has brought us the 392 and the XR . But there inability to deliver hasn’t done a thing to bring prices down
