All,
I'm creating this thread to bring awareness as my experience progresses with my 2022 JKUR 6.2L (17K Miles) Hemi, leaving me stranded on the side of I-85.
Let's rewind the tape to where my adventure took an unexpected turn; on December 19th, I was returning home from Apex, NC, when the Jeep died just over an hour into my trip home to Street, MD. I was driving northbound on I-85, enjoying my ride home in the 392, when I noticed a loss of power and the Jeep dying. Bad gas? Bad Battery?
Unfortunately, I was not so lucky when I tried to start the engine once the Jeep rolled to a stop on the shoulder; I heard awful valvetrain noises coming from the engine. At that point, I started dialing my insurance company to check on my towing options, and I also called Jeep to look at towing options. The bottom line is that both possibilities offered cover up to 50 miles. After reaching a local Jeep dealer who could not even look at my Jeep for another three days, which did not work with my schedule, I was forced to pay $1300 to tow my Jeep to Adams Jeep in Churchville, MD.
This brings me to my interaction with Adam's Jeep, who was able to start digging into the Jeep after I agreed to pay $170 for the diagnostic fee, which would be waived after Jeep approved the claim. No offer of a rental car until Jeep has approved the claim? @Jeep @JeepCare is genuinely disappointing, leaving loyal Jeep customers stranded without transportation options.
The following steps are to call the dealer again today for updates and contact the General Manager to discuss rental options. I will keep everyone updated as I believe the majority of us would hope Jeep will fix this experience for us.
