If I recall a few people in here had their 392 orders confirmed to roll over to 2023.

“Jeep Called” thread. OP said they gave him the option of rolling his 392XR order to a 23

So I guess this youtuber is full of bs, guess I should have assumed that before posting his video. Sorry
I wouldn't say he's full of bs. He knows as much as we do and gave multiple possibilities for the reason.

Jeep pulled the plug on 22 392s so they could do the same for 23. Part shortages is causing numerous manufacturers to alter their original intentions.

Will 23 have the 392 or will they take advantage of the anniversary of the Rubicon by launching the Hurricane 3.0L.

Sounds like a very dynamic situation. That's why I'm not going to celebrate until I'm sitting in my 22 392XR. Supposedly Next week. I ordered in the middle of Oct. Fingers crossed.

Lots of uncertainty. From reading on other forums, it looks like orders for 2022 392 are closed for now and unlikely to reopen. Some 2022 392 XR are still being delivered, but after an unknown point in the schedule, owners are being called and offered to switch their 392 XR order to regular 392 non XR or wait until later in year and get a 2023 392XR.

Order Banks for 2023 will not open until later in year, so for now. No new 392 orders. These 2022 392 XR orders that get bumped will probably be first in line for the 2023's. The way they are talking now, 392 will still be around in 2023 and won't be totally replaced by turbo 3.0, but I'm sure that is coming.

Only hard facts seem to be:
1. You can no longer order a 2022 392 in any form.
2. Some 2022 392 XR orders are either being switched to non XR or bumped to 2023 392XR. (buyer's choice).
3. 392's are still being built and delivered.

and probably.....
4. 392 XR production for 2022 is ending and will be transitioned to 2023 XR production.

Ordered mine FEB2022. Be interesting to see if Jeep contacts us about the roll over option. Am seeing up to 6 months for 392, 392 XR deliveries which should put our build in the middle of the factory roll over. If given the choice, I'll wait for a 2023 392 XR. And maybe, just maybe, be able to change our color from the blue to the snazzberry.

I think the Hurricane would be a massive loss. It may very well perform better than the 392 but the Wrangler is not something you're looking for maximum performance from. I'm also a fan of engines like the Hurricane as I also have a BMW X3MC (with a 503hp straight six it is very close spec wise).

From information my dealer received from his regional rep, Jeep has more orders on certain models than they can fulfill. I tried to order a '22 Grand Cherokee L Summit last week, and he was told that model was no longer available for ordering because they have too many orders. Then ironically, Jeep.com updates their build & price website to show a new High Altitude pkg (black wheels & trim) available on the Summit model specifically, but you can't order one. 🙄 It's as if different departments have no idea what the other is doing.

He was told the order banks should open up again next month to order '23s. I confirmed with a second dealer and was told the exact same thing. So I don't doubt the same thing is happening with the 392. They probably anticipated, and ordered parts for x-number of orders, and that number was exceeded and/or the parts became unavailable.

Or the 392's value will sky rocket. That will set the pace for the Hurricane engine and justify a higher price tag. If you missed out on the 392 they know you'll buy a hurricane. On the flip side China could invade taiwan, Russia could launch a Nuke, or Fauci could say lock down. Then nothing happens. Electric autos are obviously priority #1 on the global to do list

I've had a 392 XR on order since 12-4. Also a VIN. Still in D. Not highly concerned about it taking time to get into build but now I'm hearing that combo may not all be built. Jeep is trying to get customers to accept a 392 non XR or a non 392 XR. Or wait until MY '23. My dealer won't answer my messages about that nor will anyone within Jeep. Jeep Chat is useless. I'm worried.
