The issue with rolling the rear window up like we all did in our older Jeeps is that it allows carbon monoxide to accumulate in the passenger compartment. This is why all SUVs did away with the rear windows that went down into the tailgates.
My remedy for the seat belt noise is Turtle Wax...
Definitely not the right tires for sand. In sand, width is your friend. I am in the northeast so it is mud and rocks here so the narrow tires are perfect.
I am a fan of the tall skinny tires because of the weight distribution. I am assuming that you got stuck in sand? The skinny tires are better for mud where you need to sink and grab the bottom and you get a higher psi footprint when traction is needed on other surfaces. My next set will still be...
CWOFOR is correct about your tires being overinflated on delivery. The other thing to check is that all of your fuses are fully in place. Just give them all a little push, odds are a couple will be loose.
If you are going to be off roading more than trail riding the RT tires are a good...
Probably an autocorrect but it’s a pet peeve of mine. There is no apostrophe in Willys which John North Willys pronounced Willis and was how Willys-Overland was pronounced. You will unfortunately hear current Chrysler employees mispronounce it because they stated that ” they got tired of...
Yes V6 manual, like a sports car, I feel that a Jeep needs to be standard for the full experience. I have had 5, all manuals.
I do not believe that they make them all at the same time. If you watch the assembly line videos, the line has 2 and 4 doors mixed in. I wouldn’t think the transmission...
I have a Willys sport only options being A/C and trailer tow for the bigger battery and prewired switches. I was pleasantly surprised with the ride and how quiet the tires are. Before it came in I was already thinking forward to my next set of tires and was thinking of going to RTs from the MTs...
I am not a fan of the station wranglers either. I was looking at one at a light and could not believe how long it looked. I kind of understand why families buy them but I just couldn’t do it. I am picky though, I had YJs and have had and have TJs but I couldn’t do a JK because of the saggy...
I am not familiar with the factory ones, I use Carolina Metal Master mirrors but I think it’s just a legal issue. If you read Your manual and warning labels, they say that the doors are only to be removed for off road use. I believe that Is because they don’t meet the minimum crash safety...
I pretty much agree with all of this except the part about Rubicon take offs being more capable tires. For off road they are actually 2 levels below the MT tires that come on a Willys. Rubicons come with the more street friendly AT tires and there are RT tires that fall between ATs and MTs. Jeep...
I have a Wilys sport also and my next set will be 255/80r17 which is 33.1”. I am undecided if I want to stay with the BFGoodrich KM2 mud terrains or Toyo Open Country R/T rough terrain. No lift.
I don’t want to sound like a jerk but a bumpy ride is part of what you are signing up for when you buy a Jeep. Once you start to lift and modify it, it only gets bumpier. Learn to love it “Its a Jeep thing” as they say.
