Hi! I also bought a '18 JL and it has been a nightmare. One, this also is not my first jeep, but it is my first ever vehicle that has had any issues whatsoever. Two, the BUS CAN is the major issue for most of the electronics issues. If you look up the recalls for this model and that were done to yours, you'll see every single one is most likely failing again and needs replaced. As well as the 2nd battery. Which is the aux battery. My jeep is a manual transmissionn, and if you also have a manual transmission, and have not had issues with the clutch yet. Well, there's a recall on that as well, because it quit literally blows up and blows everything around it including the transmission.
....then burns to the ground (because the plastic fuel line runs over the bellhousing).

Unfortunately mine is an automatic, I couldn’t find one I liked in a manual & had not been modified out. I don’t trust anyone else’s modifications because why spend all that money & get rid of it, seems like they were dumping their issues onto someone else.

That's hilarious you say that, because I now know I have learned my lesson. And I seriously said that in my head when I first saw it, but thought, maybe whoever did it had a good reason. Like, they lost their left leg or right leg or maybe both. But in any case, I'm with you on that rule.
But what's weird, is when I originally when I was approved for finance, I signed all papers and stuff with the added warranty. Normally I waive that but they put it in, and said, to be on the safe side. About a week or two later they called and asked if I'd come in and resign some of the paperwork. They made it seem like they forgot some or something like that. When I got there, they said they were told by whoever that they didn't want to allow the extra warranty and I had to resign and lose it. Kind of starting to see a pattern here🤔

This thread is full of some of the worst advice possible and a great example of the fallacy of the wisdom of crowds. Nobody can diagnose your vehicle without more information, at the very least beginning with the actual fault codes present. @JeepinPete has the most reasonable advice here. Don’t touch anything else until you know what the problem is to begin with. “Warning lights” is not even close to enough.

How did you proceed here?

I would have walked away & refused to sign the new paperwork. If they want to nullify the prior paperwork so be it but never sign new paperwork unless it’s in your favor.

I’ve asked on Reddit & Facebook Jeep pages, no one seems to have any idea so here I am.

I bought the vehicle 2 months ago with 96k miles on it. I did buy a 36 month 36k mile warranty just to be safe, because ya know Jeep. This isn’t my first Jeep, I had a 94 YJ for my first car. I drove that thing until it was more expensive to fix than it was worth (I have MANY regrets now).

Anywho. I’ve been having an issue for awhile where the ABS light, the service 4wheel drive, & the traction control comes on sporadically. Sometimes I can be driving down a straight road, other times I can be braking either on a flat surface or on an incline. On the digital dash it tells me “service ABS soon” & “service stabilization system soon”.

The first time it happened I took it to the dealership I bought it from, they said it was my front drivers side hub, ABS sensor, & speed sensor. They replaced it, about 2 days later it came back on. I took it to a friend of mine who owns a shop & grew up around Jeeps. He ran diagnostics, showed me the scan & told me it was the front passenger side hub, ABS sensor, & speed sensor. I paid him $280 for parts, he did not charge me for labor which was EXTREMELY nice of him. Unfortunately, that still did not fix the issue.

I did some research on JScan, I bought one of the top modules they recommended & the connectors, then downloaded JScan. Also with some research I’ve discovered it could be a green car bus. Has ANYONE had this issue before? If you have did you use JScan to find it? What ended up being the problem? I’m sick of it & beginning to have buyers remorse because it’s been nothing but a pavement princess & I can’t take it on the trails like it’s meant to be.

It's the Can Buss located behind the glove box. Easy repair. I had the same issues on my 2018 plus more.

I'm curious what you would do to make this repair. Would you replace a chip module? Clean contacts and reseat? I understand there are some grounds in this area, maybe behind the fender, that can cause mysterious bus issues if they aren't contacting solidly. I tried to find it/them a couple of times and could not.

I don't have the issues Heather has, but I like learning about my car. You know, just in case.

My vote is the CANBUS. I had the same thing happen and replacing the CANBUS cured it. The CANBUS is where all of those sensors come together. Make sure to get a MOPAR part. .... There are plenty of youtube videos showing how.
Yes, but the 5 I've viewed are less helpful than desired regarding how to PULL the connectors out. Anyone have some tips that are sure fire to PULL the connectors out from the bad CAN bus without damage?

I tried first cleaning each connection on the can buss and reseating each harness. I thought it was fixed, but it only lasted 1 week before the craziness returned. Once I replaced the can buss behind the glove box, all is well.

The connectors are easy if you push from the back side instead of pushing the tabs from the top. There is a video on YT about it. Once you learn the secret, it's a breeze. I'll see if I can find it, and post the link.

I hate so much everything about what you just posted.

Why cant we just have a jeep without all the extra electrical crap that they clearly dont know how to setup in a reliable fashion?

Good luck bro

Not exactly the video I wanted to share, but this one tell you where to push to release the tabs.
