I've learned through this thread lately that there are serious electrical issues with the 2018 jlu amongst other years as well. I have been chasing this electrical issue for over a month and I half at this point. It started out by just dieing and leaving my wife stranded, so I had it towed home and began my adventures or should I say nightmare! It started off with throttle positioning and pedal sensor faults. I replaced both to no avail. I did however find that the main ground from the batteries to the body where very loose. I believe I forgot to retighten them the last time I worked on it. After that I could start it but I had a dead pedal and service traction control, shifter sensor faults and throttle and pedal sensor faults. That's about the time I found this forum and learned about the green can-bus issues, so I replaced that....and nothing....uugghhh!
Next I replaced both batteries as suggested by many here. With that came the light show that I 've read so many people on this forum were experiencing. I then tested every fuse including the hv fuse array, all good. Made sure all where seated well, check. Nothing. I then tore out both batteries, battery and fuse box and found the main ground strap from the motor to the fire wall was broken, so I replaced that. Then checked and cleaned every ground i could find. Good news is no more electrical light show, bad news it is back to not starting again. It won't come off of run unless I disconnect the batteries and I have lost communication with all modules. I even bought an oscilloscope but still can't figure it out. I don't believe that the ecm has the update but I don't know if that would make a difference. Please help
