We have a 2018 JLU Sahara. The front driver side door lock switch is not working. The passenger door lock switch works and the key fob works. We've never removed the doors, though I haven't checked the pins on the connections.

I tried replacing the door lock switch with a new one from Mopar but it didn't resolve the issue. Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the links. I had seen the youtube video but I hadn't pulled off trim to access wire harnesses, mostly b/c I never took the doors off so I thought maybe pins couldn't/wouldn't be bent, but that might be the next thing to try. I looked at a fuse diagram (https://www.[Banned Site]/threads/fuse-box-jl-wrangler-quick-reference-chart.53079/) and it seems there's one fuse for the locks, since the other locks work I assume it wouldn't be the fuse (please correct me if that assumption is incorrect).

I tried swapping the switch with a brand new one, no luck. Tried swapping the switch with the passenger switch, no luck. Put the driver side lock on the passenger side and it works. Looked at the fuse, seems ok plus there's only one fuse for "door locks" so I figured it would be fine since all other door switches and key fob works.

I disconnected the wire harness on the driver side front floor, which I've never disconnected before and everything looked fine.

Not sure what else to try at this point.

Hey Craig,

Same exact issue here that I noticed today. Driver's side lock not working. Tried passenger side motor in the driver side and it did not work. Driver window goes up/down, remote start works. Looked at door plug to see if any pins were bent and I did not see any.

Cannot figure this out! Add that to the rear parking sensor error message and I'm baffled...

Figured out with my neighbor today. There was a wire that goes to the door lock switch to the harness in the foot well. The blue with red/purple lined wire was literally severed. Have no idea how or why as I haven't removed doors (snowing here in NY). Reran wire and spliced into and my driver side door lock switch works once again. Great neighbor who diagnosed and essentially helped put back together.

Oh interesting, I didn't notice anything when I last looked at the harness/connection in the foot well, but I'll have to double check. Thanks for sharing.

The broken wire was severed inside the cloth loom. Again have no idea how. When we were fishing around and pulling on the full line that one wire was loose. We connected new wire to broken end and then spliced in to good end and bingo!

Thankful I found this, just looked at mine and the same wire is cut and from the looks of it, at exactly the same spot.
I’ll pull the door panel off tomorrow and either splice it or run a new wire.

Bump.
Had the same symptoms. Turned out to be the same problem. Actually had 2 wires severed and a third partially severed. Soldered them back together. Works good but I’m guessing it will happen again in another 50k miles.

A few weeks ago the driver side power mirror button stopped working (along with the door lock that we just left busted). Eventually found that we had several severed wires hidden inside the cloth bit. We're just replacing the wiring harness, the specific part is 68299333AH

I have the exact same problem on my 2020 Rubicon. I have never taken the doors off. We tested the wires from the lock switch and found a continuity issue. I pulled the harness sheath back and found the green/purple wire broken and two other wires with damage to the outer cover. I’ll likely run some new wire and splice else I will buy a new harness since the prices are decent.
