I have a 2018 Rubicon JL. All my locks work with the fob and the passenger door automatic locks and unlocks with the door button as well. However, for some reason, the pushbutton lock on the driver door stopped working all at once. I have never had the doors off and there still seems to be some resistance as when it worked before but when I push the button but it just won’t lock and unlock the driver side door. Any help would be appreciated.

Tried the switch that worked on the door that wasn’t and it worked fine so it’s not the switch. Any other ideas?

So the switch from the passenger door DID or DID NOT work on the driver door?

So sorry I was doing two things at once not paying attention to my answer. Neither switch works on the driver side door.

Probably a broken wire in the door harness. That harness gets bent every time the door is opened. At least they are not that expensive to replace.

I found if the key fob was in my hand, it appears like it tries to unlock the door. Key fob in pocket like it would be getting out, button works. YMMV

i had the same , on my 22 , its not the latch, there is an issue with the wiring , and if you/car have had any water enter the interior at some point, there may be a short, most likely its the BCM 9 body control module) , which is pricey, if you know a good 12v auto electrician they can bypass the wire , which is behind the glove compartment, there're several green plugs, one of them is for the auto lock and among other functions, it will start working , also it may be a warranty issue if one can prove it to the dealer, but good luck with that
