Hello, I have a 2018 JLU Sahara Manual Transmission with what I think is a bad Clutch Pedal Position Switch/Sensor. I can the start the car and drive without issues, however I’m also able to start it in 1st/2nd/etc gear (as far as I’m aware, I should only be able to start it in Neutral with a good sensor). I also get the Auto Start/Stop is disabled screen on the dashboard whenever I start the car. I already replaced the clutch interlock (near the driver side firewall, underneath the hood)switch at some point since my car wouldn’t start at all before.

Anyone know how to test the Clutch Pedal Position switch/sensor and how to replace it? Where is it located? Car is out of warranty (~52k miles).

You pull the whole freaking dash out to remove the three pedals as an assembly then disassemble that to get to the sensor.

To save a little time you could quit reattaching the negative battery cable. That way you wouldn't have to remove it again as the first step of the next disassembly. ;)

Any other indications that there may a problem with the 4WD indication? It WILL start in gear if transfer case is in 4LO, and ASS is disabled in 4LO

Like your foot isn't on the clutch and it would start in gear?
A manual transmission can start in any gear as long as your foot is on the clutch.
The clutch pedal makes it be in neutral and then therefore you can start.

Can you update me on what happened with this? I think mine needs to be replaced, it will only start with the clutch mashed to the floor.
