Well there is a relearn process in the description that is done through the pcm so they may be using that (allbeit) lengthy time to do procedure. Approach with concern and not with an accusational attitude they may inform you of why the amount of time is 8hrs! Remember you get more bees with honey!
Oh for sure. I’m definitely coming off frustrated in my post. I will definitely go with the niceties. The mechanic told me his book told him he’d have to remove the entire front dash to get at the sensor. It’s stuff like that, that makes it incredibly hard to trust their expertise which sucks. I have even tried a local mechanic, but they don’t want to touch it either because they said the dealership is the only place with the tools to do a job like this.

I hear ya honestly!!! I don't trust any of them. Unfortunately they are the only ones that have the equipment for the relearn process. I try to do all I can within my un-technical brain to get things done without going to the Stealership, but some things you can't avoid. Good luck and hope your on the road/trail again soon!

It’s certainly not true that only the dealership can do this level of work, but it is a 7.2 hour job.

Alldata? I did not have or overlooked that screen? I thought I had checked every link associated. At any rate thx mwilko12 that helps JasOn with his discussion.

Thank you very much Rico. So what I'm seeing from this is that the tech potentially told me that it takes 8 hours of labor just for them to remove the dash, but according to this tech diagram it is a .5 hr job. I will try and call the dealership and see what they say about this. I really appreciate it and hope this issue finally goes away.
That “clutch switch” is the one on the side of the clutch master cylinder. If you’ll look at the procedure he posted, it pretty much just glosses over step 2, “remove the clutch pedal assembly”, which is a 7 hour job.

In other words, how bad do you really need cruise control?

Currently the sensor is intermittently failing. Once it fails completely I will not be able to start my jeep right?

I think from what I have read, if you put it in neutral it should start.

Did you ever get this sorted out?

Nope, it still randomly fails. Are you in the same boat?
Yep.
Almost daily. I can’t gently push the clutch when I get it otherwise it won’t start. I have to like…slam the clutch to the floor. To like I don’t know, get it to recognize that I pushed the clutch in?
I’ve gotten to the point I just always hit the pedal hard now, but I know I shouldn’t have to. I’ve driven a lot of manuals and it’s just…odd.
So it’ll pretty much always start now for me. (Cause I know the trick) but then while driving it’ll randomly flash a light at me. (Auto start/stop disabled/get serviced/cruise control disabled)

I’m still under warranty but like, nobody has loaners and I can’t figure out how to get warranty work done and still get to and from work.

I looked into buying the part, it’s fuckin cheap enough, but I shouldn’t have to cause warranty and it’s quoted as an 8 hour job so I’m sure it’ll be a whole weekend ordeal for me to diy.

My 2023 with 600 miles would not start after shutting it off and the ignition would not turn off. Towed it to the dealer. They claimed there was corrosion on the wiring harness at the clutch pedal switch. Hard to believe as our Jeep was a custom order and spent no time on the lot. The dealer was going to replace the whole engine harness but I opted to have them scab in a section that connects to the clutch switch sensor. Knock on wood, It's been 8 months and 2000 miles later.

Hi, guys. I posted https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/clutch-pedal-clicks.115775/ a little while back and it's become an intermittent annoyance. Yeah, it's just a click sound, but even with top off and radio on it cuts through and irritates me.

Do you think I may be hearing the magnet engaging the interlock? Anything I can reach to lubricate?

Paying 8hrs of labor to tear apart the pedal assembly just to hunt down an intermittent clicking sound doesn't seem like a wise investment.

So I’ve had vehicles similar to this come in before, a clutch pedal relearn fixed it. Not saying it’s y’all’s issues, but worth mentioning.
