they have a range of sensor numbers that are faulty so they'll check yours and if it needs replacement they'll do it if not then clear the recall

I've started getting the following:

P0806 Jeеp Code -
Clutch Position Sensor
Circuit
Range/Performance.

Haven't seen the recall yet, but guess I'll do some digging.

This is completely unrelated to the recall and to the rest of this thread. Your fault is in the pedal assembly for the clutch.

If it resolves this issue, I’m all for it! ?. FWIW, the screen comes in black or green as well.

I'm looking for some specific information on how to diagnose what I suspect might be a bad gear position sensor on my 2023 JLUR. I'd let a dealership do the recall, but it will be a while before I'm in a country with a dealership so am hoping to do some troubleshooting myself.

1) Where is this sensor located?

2) Anyone have info on diagnosing it with a multimeter, if that's possible?

3) Anyone have the set of sensor numbers that's known to be bad in case I can remove mine and find the number on it? Or a part number?

Thanks amigos.

Well, isn´t that interesting? A Jeep dealer in Limon, CO just charged me over $800 to replace that part and it was not faulty, although they said it was.

I know yours is a 2022, but does anyone else know how far back this recall goes? I´d love that $820 to find its way back into my wallet.

For the record, the problem with my Jeep turned out to be the CANBUS star connector. $22 on Amazon.

It was throwing 9 to 15 codes related to ABS sensors, service transmission, service start/stop, and other similar stuff. But at no time did it fail to show the correct gear on the dash, which made me question their assessment that it was the gear position sensor. The reason I left it at their dealership in Colorado was because it went into limp mode and indicated (erroneously) that the transmission had overheated. I couldn´t drive more than 40mph. And I could not clear that with my Tazer JL.

The dealer wound up programming my Jeep for tire size, in spite of me explaining the Tazer to them, and then cracked open the rear diff cover to confirm the 4.56 gearing that I told them it had in writing. It really turned out to be a shit show on their part. Anyway, I had to send them a video then walk them through programming the Tazer. They test drove it and proclaimed it fixed. I drove it three hours toward home and it threw the codes again. Every time I stopped for gas, it would throw the codes, same as before they replaced the gear position sensor. I would clear them with the Tazer, and rinse, wash, repeat. I finally figured out that once I cleared the codes, if I did not shut off the engine the next time we stopped, they would not come back. It really was bizarre. Anyway, someone on the forum had told me about the Canbus star connector and a local Jeep tech confirmed that my Jeep´s symptoms were consistent with a failure of that part. So I bought one, installed it, and it got worse. Something told me I had a bad replacement part, so I ordered another from a different vendor and installed it. Problem solved.
I was wondering if the recall covered 2018 because if it did, I would expect a refund for the $820 or so they charged me to replace it. I still am scratching my head as to how that sensor was not covered by my Maxcare warranty. Pretty much everything else on the Jeep is covered.

It is a real bummer because the tech at my local (and trusted) Jeep dealer said the Star Connector would have been the first thing he would have suspected and replaced.
