Streams and creeks are at maximum flow because of recent snow melt.

Even more dumb than the drives of the jeeps are the people that decide a helicopter was needed to rescue those people. Like what the FUCK, they could not walk to shore in waist to mid chest water? Have they never heard of a thing called a boat?

Helicopters cost a bunch of money to fly. I bet the tow truck guy will just walk out there to hook up to the Jeeps.

The helicopter seems way overkill based on the pictures - maybe the current was too strong of sth for other means lf rescue, but other than the pics being tricky I don’t think so.

That's just one of the many services that CHP provides. In addition to (as of 10-2020) 17 fixed wing units, they have 15 choppers and 12 are equipped for search & rescue. They are airborne as much of the time as possible and if they are close by, they'll drop in and do rescues and medivac. Each chopper has a paramedic on board. They do not charge for the services that they provide.

I am obligated to give them a pat on the back for doing what they do after having worked for them for 25 years.

Hey, we got two Jeeps that went for a swim, should we send a tow truck and a canoe, nah send in the helicopter, Coast Guard and call up the National Guard.
