My 2dr was the best as long as you didn’t need to haul people in the backseat and take things with you. 4dr is more practical but it’s going to be hard to beat the 2dr feel and ease of covering the rear without getting a soft top.

Couldn't agree more with those wanting a longer wheelbase 2-dr. I think something like that would attract both 2dr and 4dr owners. An "Unlimited" 2dr version would be VERY tempting to this 2dr owner.

I would have gotten a two-door manual transmission EcoDiesel, but that was never an option. 🤷‍♂️ :crying:
Exactly 💯 ! Unfortunately, they stuffed so much emission shit into Ecodiesel, there's not enough room for it in a 2 door. I already have a diesel car, so I chose a 2 door manual Rubi gasser over 4 door diesel and it was a hard choice. If they made 2 door diesels, there would be WAY more 2 door owners around here.

I ended up dumping my 2dr manual when the clutch started slipping at 28k miles. I wasn’t about to go down that path…😢

Thanks, that bumper is the Rugged Ridge Venator. Got it at Quadratec. They have some good videos on the install. Also on YouTube. It is a modular bumper. They can take some patience to install because there are a lot of separate parts. It is also not good for bashing on rocks. The metal parts are not thick enough for that. I got it because I like the look and do not do rock crawling. It has extremely rugged tow hooks and winch mount and I wanted those features. Also the winch mount is low profile, something else I wanted.

Can't blame you.
My JLR manual is at 27k and the clutch is working just fine so far, even though the 19A recall was done before I bought it. But... if (or when) it starts giving me all the trouble widely described everywhere, I may dump it too. Manual is for fun, not for constant struggle and fear getting stranded in limp somewhere in the middle of nowhere

Not sure it would attract many 4dr buyers to be honest, especially after having owned and wheeled one. The storage space is better, but just as much of a pain to access as the 2dr. The slightly shorter wheel base could be advantageous on certain obstacles but a drawback on others. If the options were only 2dr or bigger 2dr, it would get a lot of would be 4dr buyers. That ship sailed with the JKU. I don't see enough gain for it to increase sales enough to justify a whole new body and frame design. The only way I see a long wheel base wrangler being developed is if it's a replacement for the short version. I could be wrong.

The 4 door has zero space. I can't imagine having another 2 door again. Plus loading my dog in a 2 door with all my soccer gear for coaching would never work plus a fridge. The 4 door is barely big enough and sometimes it's not. Now having an extended 4 door would be perfect.

Nah you’re projecting again

But go ahead and you do you

Sad how some people can parachute into a thread and start throwing sand around like a two year old in a sand box for no reason at all. It seems to be a pattern with @yokramer . Pathetic.

There have been many times that I wished Jeep would build a 4 door on the JT platform, with more interior cargo space, heavier axles and the heavier tow rating of the JT.

A Wrangler on the JT platform is something that would have me considering an upgrade, for ME, that would be an upgrade, not the compromise of the 2 door

Wife and I each own a 4 door, but if I'm 100% honest, I'd love a 2 door to use as my free for all off road, topless, sh*t kicking weekend ride.

Pretty much what I said earlier, I would love to have a 2 Door, as a TOY, but that is all a 2 door would ever be for me, a TOY, Top and doors Off, and around here would sit in the garage for 13 months out of the year. Realistically a Naked 2 Door would get about 3 months of use around here probably 60-75 days of that even, it would be Fun to have, but Never replace the JLU as a serious vehicle

Love the look of mine. It's what the stock steel bumper should've looked like. It's not as bullett proof as a single piece bumper, but it's still pretty stout. I've smacked the skid plate fairly hard more then once without issue.

All of this 2 door vs 4 door stuff and back an forth is entertaining and funny, especially if you just lighten up a little.

The magic that propelled Jeep out of the niche that it was in for so many years was innovation and creativity while keeping to the common platform of solid axles, body on frame, removable doors & top, 7 slot grille, ect. New and good things like coil suspension, better tops, 4 doors, 392, 3.0 diesel, (too many to list), rescued Jeep and widened its appeal. We have watched this erode in the last couple of years. Hopefully the new leadership sees this and gets back to innovation and creativity. The more Jeep owners, the better, IMO.

Oh ya and give me a 2 door Gladiator, now we really have an interior space challenge!!
