Yeah that’s what I was searching way back when, before I even had her. Guess it’s time to rewatch! :giggle: And there should be even more with people having them now! :like:
Hi Lydia, I know it’s a lot of money, but I love my TopLift Pro. I have a ceiling mounted hoist, but the ease of the TopLift Pro is worth it.

Ha! Good story. My dealer is not that way unfortunately. Volume place and like pulling teeth to get anyone on the phone or get information about anything. My salesperson sells one car a day on average (I saw her closing calendar) - a number I thought was staggering. I thought 4-5 a month would be normal. I honestly will be happy if is not accidentally sold... I saw a post on the forum about this happening to somebody.
@HardRock

Dave, You still might want to reach out to the GM and have him assure you that it is yours and will be there for you when you get back. This way he knows that you are sincere about completing the purchase. Let him know you will praise the dealership on social media, etc..

It's Microsoft's problem... They made it so that any idiot can write code and guess what? You end up with idiots writing code... Close the windows on your Jeep... Get out of the vehicle... Get back in and open up the windows... Problem fixed, right? :)
No, idiots were writing code before Microsoft.

Ya, thanks pal. Appreciate it.

I signed all the paperwork two weeks ago when it was supposed to have been delivered June 18. They owe me a check for 17 grand for my trade-in and I owe them a signature on a 1-page document accepting delivery. Should be a done deal but I am so paranoid knowing how long it would take to order another one. I would wait for 2019's at that point!

You know what’s ridiculous? The money lost keeping loaded trucks from delivering. In my case, my Jeep has been at destination since the first, not yet unloaded per JG. Maybe the delivery folks are payed by the hour rather than by delivery. How can they afford such waste?
Maybe they don't actually have the *trucks* idle, but the trailers are being loaded and they sit around until a truck and driver is available to take them to the destination? Trailers are probably a lot cheaper than trucks and having them idle is not really a money losing proposition compared to perhaps paying a driver and truck for delivering a non-full load.

Dealer just sent me a photo, can't wait to head over to Houston in the morning to pick her up.
Looks like you'll be testing whether it leaks in the rain if you come over here today...

Was that at River Oaks Jeep?

So 3 dealers near me, and about 8 2 door wranglers coming in fairly soon. Getting excited, wrangler is a small vehicle for a Viking, I barely fit in 4 door, hoping door is same fit or bigger.

I am hopeful to be getting one of them soon... I am noticing 2 door base sport models sitting on lots for a couple of weeks now down south, I would have thought in an area with so many people they would have been insta gone. I guess 2 doors and base sport fall off the radar.

You don’t wanna bother with a custom order?

Microsoft just made it so much easier for the idiots to write code though... And they took it to a whole new (lower) level when they introduced Visual Basic back in the 1990s.

But I'm an old engineer, so don't get me started on my complaints about the kiddie engineers or programmers of today... At least not unless I have a couple of 6-packs to go through while I'm bitching about them. :)

I haven’t yet, but I live alone & would have to have someone come over to help any time I want to take it off or put it on. I can’t do a ceiling lift of any kind because I’m a renter & my garage is bare bones, as in studs. I don’t trust the integrity of the structure to hold the top for an indefinite length of time. The ease of doing it myself with a stupidly expensive Top Lift Pro is very appealing for a super independent, hates to bother people by asking for help girl. It’s an annoying trait! But there ya have it. :giggle: I’ll see how it shakes out this weekend getting it off for the first time & we’ll go from there I guess. Now, to buy a sunshade!!:sun:
If you think that the structure is so bad that it can't hold the top, then you REALLY should not park a vehicle in that structure either!

So, you have exposed ceiling joists also? If so, it's a really easy modification and will not weaken the structure of the building and it might even *strengthen* it... You don't need to drill holes to put lag bolts into the ceiling joists, just use long deck screws. Put a 2x4 across the ceiling joists and screw 2 long deck screws into each place that the 2x4 crosses the ceiling joists. This will distribute the load across all of them. If you want to make it even stronger, you could put the 2x4 across the *top* of the ceiling joist since that would mean that the deck screws are only keeping the 2x4 from sliding and are not supporting any of the weight. You will need two of these 2x4s so that you can run straps / cables down for the front and back of the hardtop. From there, it's just a matter of how you want to pick up the hardtop.

Some people just use ratchet straps hooked to eye bolts that slightly outboard of the edges of the hardtop and either hooked onto the hard top itself, looped through the hardtop fore to aft, or hooked to padded 2x4s that they slide underneath the top at forward and rearward areas of the hardtop.

Some people put a hand winch on the wall and run 4 cables to the corners where straps might be hanging.

There's a lot of different solutions that guys have made and posted about on YouTube -- some more advanced than others. If you are going to be taking it off on a day to day basis, maybe using an electrically operated winch would be more desirable. If you are only doing it every few days or week, a hand winch (like used on boat trailers) would be acceptable. If even less often, just using the winching capability from the cargo straps themselves would probably do.

It really is a pretty simple thing to do and any guy who can't design a system that could accomplish this for you needs to hand in his man card.

Man, Ocean Blue is such a great color! I think the only thing that would prevent me from ordering that color, is the fear of trail striping.
