Other manufacturers overinflate from the factory as well. Most common reason I have heard is to prevent flat spotting during transit of vehicle.
Never heard the flat spot reason/theory..I doubt that theory...

Have heard and believe, that the over-inflation is lets call it, is a by product of the process of seating the tire bead on the new rim during the tire mounting process. They need that increased psi to pop the bead and after the process, they never re-adjust tire psi.

When I worked at a dealer part of the PDI was to adjust the tire pressures. I have seen alot ot shit when I worked there and will always try and handle or at least diagnose any issue I have before going to any dealer.

I am no expert on this, could be BS, but to me it makes sense. As we have seen with the Jeep vehicles can sit on holding lots and transports for a long time. Longer if coming by ship, plus time sitting on dealer lots. As I recall if you look at the prep sheet dealerships are supposed to adjust down the pressure, but seems they often skip that step.

Waterleaks are one of the hardest problems to pinpoint. Water travels and does crazy things to get into your vehicle. Most dealers would do well with a "specialist" cause the flatrate tech doesn't get paid alot per hour, he gets paid per job basically. He wont spend much time on a water issue where he could get 8 hours pay for 8 hours work when the guy next to him is making 16-20 hours pay in that same 8 hour day

@Mordin Solus Ever see a tire mounted? Ever mounted a tire yourself? You need lots of psi to pop the bead.

Reality is, who the frigg cares why the overinflation... ;)

You bring a new vehicle home, first thing early next morning, before you drive the vehicle, you should be checking tire pressure. Regardless of whether Corvette, Porsche, Jeep, whatever, you need to do this.

In the almost two weeks since I’ve has Vida home, I’ve had her roof panels off many times. I’m always careful with them when it comes to removing, storing & putting them back on. I discovered yesterday when removing them that both panels are chipped. One on the corner of the rear angled edge & the flat interior edge, the other along that angled edge. I have no problem toughening them up by lining the edges to reinforce them, but I don’t think it should be chipping already! Has anyone else noticed this?

Just got a completely useless call from jeep. They called me to tell me my jeep is delayed, really? you don't say. Now they are trying to tell me its delayed because i ordered the manual transmission, and these will be built after the automatics are filled, because it takes more time to " put the hole for the clutch in " Why do they lie to us ? just tell me you have no f#$%ing idea why my jeep is delayed. I'm also tired of all the apologizing they do. This is what passes for good customer service these days, every company thinks if they just keep telling you how sorry they are that they messed up its all good. Well its not, good customer service is when you actually fix the problem!

Sorry for your BS reply. I think every firewall has a hole for a clutch. And I can
not believe they called you ! Call them today you will most likely will get a
better update. We all went through their lies as to the stupid people who DO NOT
care what they say and are to lazy to look up our real status. Soon they will all
be out of a job and wonder why. 95% DO NOT CARE !!

I just called the 866 number for the first time, I have used the chat and dealer each time previously. I ordered 2/5, was 'D' on 2/8, I have the POC. I was told I am still 'D'. I did speak to someone who seemed to be very understanding, even at one time said she also did not understand everything that is going on. FIRST honest response I have received in 16 weeks and 4 days! Said they can not escalate because that has already been done - Nicole is tracking my order. I received an email from Nicole weeks ago - same email all of you received saying she is tracking my order - and have heard nothing else from her. I even used the response link from her email 3 times and have not received anything.

I asked about what more I could do or my dealer could do - was basically told there is nothing more but to wait. I am visiting the dealership today, we will see what happens.

Thanks for listening - needed to vent a little this morning!
