I'm getting more and more tempted to just cancel my order and go without a Jeep. I don't really need it. It'll be a very expensive toy for me. But then I imagine having it, driving it, loving it... And I just can't cancel. Besides if I cancel I bet money it'll be delivered the very next day.
Not to mention you'd be stuck driving a van and a boring car.

So, after hearing about the mystic reddit thread, I tossed my VIN there in hopes of a response....and just got one:

Jeep Wrangler JL 2 DOOR JL build/order discussions master thread capture-jpg

Some takeaways here:

1) THE JEEP IS BUILT!
2) H33 hold means either Headliner or waiting for FCA's QAQC to be satisfied :movember:
3) FCA seems to be doing some sort of QAQC on the two doors :please:
4) drillionaire is a saint

That's a good thing, I would say. I'm sure they did that with the JLU as well. It seems like forever, but I am happy that they are doing their QC's to make sure everything is right.

Hopefully they're making more than the claimed "a few per day" at this point. And that major new issues aren't creeping up. And that the frame problems were addressed.

I'm getting tempted to look at other cars but the 2 door is almost here for real, and it has been a dream for nine years.

Get rid of your temptation and just wait! Things are moving, even if not all that smoothly. I’m hoping we will see 2 doors in the wild next 1-2 weeks. Just hang on.

If a Jeep is your dream, just wait it out. Doesn’t matter if the two doors come out in a month or 3 months, I would bet you would regret buying something else once you see 2 doors on the road.

I can't cancel. With my JK, I know I can't go without a Jeep and that vehicle is at the point where it's costing me money to keep. It's also a trade-in on the new JL and my deal allows me to keep using it with no limitations on mileage. I'll likely have put an additional 6k miles on it and turn in a vehicle 6 months older than when the deal was struck. If I walk away from that and pursue something else, I'll lose significant trade-in value.

I've been through this before with my Z06, for which I waited 6 months. However, GM was head and shoulders above FCA in transparency. FCA books every dealer order and then sorts out how and when they may build it. GM would only book orders that they had the ability to schedule immediately. Still, the wait wasn't fun then and it's less so now.

Hoping/guessing this is true! My 2 door is one of the few that is built right now as well. It has been built since last Wednesday (4/18), but hasn’t been shipped out yet either. Ordered 2 door rubicon on 2/25

Daily JL 2 door pic, day 3

flexin' better than ever before. It's extremely impressive that a large manufacturer is offering such an off-road capable, yet street-legal, vehicle to the masses with how tightly regulated the auto industry is these days.

On 1-22-18 I ordered a JL Rubicon with everything. On 3-22-18 I cancelled the 2 dr order and ordered a JLU Rubicon with everything. On 4-23-18 the dealer said the JLU would be delivered between 5-16 and 5-26. On 4-23 I wrote back and asked if they were still going to get the 2dr I had ordered and if so, I'd take both. He wrote back saying they were getting the 2 dr as my cancellation was too late but that it wasn't scheduled to be built yet. Maybe I'll get both and sell one or maybe they'll never build a 2 dr. A couple of things I know is that the Bronco will have IFS and that that Jeep Chat sucks.

The wheeling I do can handle IFS.

If the new bronco has a removable roof and manual transmission (it definitely won't), that'd be enough for me to jump ship. It's not fun to support a horrible company like FCA just because they own the crown jewel of the crown jewel.

The only other FCA product I'd like to have is a Fiat 124, largely because while it looks great, Fiat does not manufacture it!
