This is just fkn nonsense now. Looking to take delivery of a 2018 JL in the 7month(at earliest it’s looking) of the year. 2019s should be out by then.
Wish someone knew someone that could do a national WTF piece on this botched FCA rollout.
All along I've been planning to order a 2019 two door but hating the wait. But I might as well chill since no one can even get a 2018

15 plus weeks today. I ordered on 1-1, works out to be 110 days (if I counted correctly), and I just hope when it happens I will forget about all this bullshit and hopefully just enjoy it. I would rather Jeep make it right than fast

I agree. I am disappointed in how the builds are progressing but most of all I am disappointed in the lack of info and the inconsistent conflicting info provided by everyone at FCA - from my dealer to the FCA top dogs. They can say or do whatever they want...they own the company and I know I can take my business elsewhere. I will continue to wait on this one (ordered 2/5), that is my choice, but I don't think I would do it again. I just want some consistent and honest information. Our last 5 vehicles have all been Jeep brand vehicles - bought new - I would have considered us loyal to the brand.

This experience is having some negative impact to the iconic Jeep brand - it has to, even if it is minor. I know many of you may not agree but, just my opinion.

A customer is the most important visitor on our premises, he is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption in our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

I could just be buying a new Tacoma and enjoying that for two years, figuring Jeep will have their shit together by MY 2020.

How hard can it be to build a 2 door? Are they finding issues unique to the 2 doors? Or are they really just trying to kill the less popular yet iconic model?

This would be my first Jeep, and I can say with relative certainty its going to be my last. Im also probably going to wait and not cancel, but I dont think ill be forgetting this experience when my next buy comes around. For my part im hoping that Bronco is a good buy and then im hopping over that side.

Is any one else confused how FCA cannot maintain a proper supply chain for something like LED headlights after I’ll say 8 months or so of the beginning planning phases. I work for a very large alcoholic beverage company and that seems akin to us saying “sorry customers you don’t get any products because we don’t have any bottles”. So many people would get fired/resign of that happened but how can it happen in the first place?

There were reported news articles over the last couple of years regarding FCA and Jeep. It was reported the Jeep brand by itself is valued worth more than the total value of all FCA combined - that lead to speculation - could somehow Jeep be separated? Anyway, if interested, those articles by Forbes, CNBC, etc. are out there.

So I totally get people being pissed off with the delays. If I was waiting 4-5 months I would probably be mad too. But I do wonder if other manufacturers are any better or worse.

My experience with Mazda was not all that good. Paid directly to Mazda to reserve a Miata Launch Edition, and at best I could only get rough ETA's. There were no tracking codes or the like, Mazda support could not say where the cars were, dealership said they often did not know until the truck showed up.

With the C7 Corvette I know people who waited several months before taking delivery. Just doing a quick check today and there are still folks who wait up to 6 months for their orders, though those seem to be related to the Grand Sport model.

My buddy ordered a Cayman a few years back and tracking was awesome on it. Had a website to log in and check, and while it was on a ship he could check for GPS location once a day. Then again, he blew well over 100k on his car and for that amount of money the least they could do was offer solid tracking.

Anyways, curious to know what experience others here have had when ordering a vehicle. Especially around the launch time.

Have ordered 4 prev new Jeep vehicles but this is the first newly launched one. All other vehicles have been around 5 to 9 weeks from order to delivery.

I think most would agree that problems with a launch can occur which cause delays. The thing that pisses me off is the lack of information and wrong information being produced. I, for one, would be appreciative, if I received an explanation for the delay, a valid attempt to estimate when or if 2 dr production has actually started, and that everyone was receiving the same information.

This experience is a stain that will be hard to remove for some time. But, I am waiting it out.

9 weeks is bat $hit crazy . My BMW from Germany only took 8 weeks with effortless tracking and no delays. Gotta love German efficiency, wish they owned Jeep.
