I’m not basing this on anything but intuition, but I don’t think the additional delay is a supply issue or poor planning. They’re working out a potential recall issue is my guess.

Guess I’d rather wait longer than have my track bar shear off! :bandit:

back when they saw the cancellation of february production (which was likely in early january), they should have stopped taking orders entirely and opened order banks in march. that would have solved lots of headaches...

instead, for those of us who ordered in december or january, it’s basically like ordering the next iphone in may and paying a deposit only to find out that october is when it ships...

Ordered 5/1/18: 2018 JL Rubicon 2 Door
I haven't placed an order solely because of this thread. Pretty soon I'm going to pass on the idea of buying my first Jeep and just move on...

Uh oh, we've been too negative. That is just frustration and longing building up, especially while all those 4 doors drive around and have fun.

If it is what you want, go for it =)

Wholeheartedly agree about the order banks. However, I was witness to the fact that the February cancellation was last minute and done in the same disoganized manner as what appears to be happening now. FCA moved a number of 2dr orders into D1 ( mine was one) in the second week of February with build dates assigned for the fourth week. Before the end of the third week, all of the D1 orders were moved back into D. FCA messaging at that time was that there was a short delay and 2dr startup would be rescheduled for early to mid March. As we all know, that later became mid April and now we appear to be looking at mid May.

For the last four months, the operative words for FCA's handling of 2dr production have been "chaotic" and "opaque." In that, they have been absolutely consistent.

Smart idea..... it’ll give you the time you need to realize Jeep’s have a 7 slot grill and the reason they do. Lmao

That's a light bar, since the 0s are in the middle instead of 0|||||||0

When I ordered my 4Runner TRD Pro last year I waited 15 weeks for it to come in. Mind you it came from Japan and they only make 3,000 per year, but it took a while. Right now I’m at 9 weeks with my Jeep, mind you I live in Ohio.

For your sake, I hope your dealer's right. However, it currently looks like production started for a very limited number and then shut down again. The tracking spreadsheet on this site only shows one built 2dr JL in what should have been 10 days production. Yours could have been one the few that slipped under the wire.

Man I'd be pissed to pay that ridiculous $1445 destination to ship a Jeep from Ohio to Ohio

Yes I agree. But right now $1445 is worth it. I have been waiting too long.
I hope this shows a start of production for everyone!!
Here's hoping they're getting delivered soon, and that early 2 door batches show acceptable frame and track bar weld quality
