Good morning all! Does anyone happen to know what this piece goes to? The kids found it in the back yesterday while we were riding around. I have looked and looked and can’t figure it out. Looks like it is a right side to something... Maybe... I have searched the internet of all the numbers on it and nothing comes up. I’m hoping someone here can help me out.

It says it is for the right hand and looks like the part that covers the wires going to the door. So it would be in the passenger footwell where the strap and wires are to the door.

I've been 2 weeks with my unicorn, after a wait of 5 months. Today was the first day with PST windows out and top fully back. I have the sunburn to prove it. Grew up with several Jeeps ('90s, '00s) that my dad owned and wow has Jeep come a long way. This is my first Jeep and here's my 2 week review. These are just the things that stand out to me now.

The good:
1. Great look/feel. The Rubi has a much taller stance than I expected or is shown in photos, which is a good thing. I am guilty of walking into the garage or around parking lots just to get extra views.
2. 6MT is legit. My last three pedal was an E46 BMW coupe and this transmission is every bit as sporty and smooth, if not more. Hill assist takes some getting used to--I stalled several times expecting the roll back haha.
3. PST is quiet and works in so many configurations. We will see how durable it is with daily use (my Rubi is garaged at home and work).
4. Cloth seats--comfy and I seem to care less about them than I would leather (another good thing).
5. This community is great.

The OK:
1. Highway steering. I don't think I have the issues some are experiencing and I get this is a 'Jeep thing'. I think my steering is improving with miles and/or experience. I'm still scared hitting bumps or passing 18 wheelers because of the sway, but when I point it between the lines it stays there for the most part. Otherwise, great turning radius and around town steering.

The bad:
1. I'm disappointed in the Alpine system, but not because I think it's sub-par. So far, I've gotten the 2 rattles that most are complaining of: a) Charlie Brown teacher voice/voice talking into a soup can from under the steering wheel (worse with talking than music) and b) bass rattle in sound bar that improves with pulling down on the rear of the sound bar. I know Jeeps rattle, but it's annoying I can't enjoy my new $1200 speakers because of this. I'm not someone who can fix things like this, so I'm left waiting for a fix that I can show to the dealer.
2. Hot air bursts from passenger side with A/C on. Appears to be 'normal' based on what I've read here.

My Rubi is my daily driver and it's certainly capable of that task. Overall, I love driving it--just not so much at >65 MPH or with the radio turned up loud.
Try adding poly fill inside the sound bar. I had to do this in my JK. The only thing in the sound bar was the speakers. The more bass you had the more it rattled. Sounded like the speakers were busted sometimes. Once I put the poly fill in the sound bar it quit “rattling”. I haven’t had a chance to pull the speakers out of the JL, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the same case.

Damn, I found the same thing in mine when it was delivered. Couldn't figure out where it went and neither could the techs. I think they threw it away.

Waaaay too small for the door wire cover.
Catherine, I suggest that you just hold on to it. It's probably just a piece that fell into your Jeep. I found several different things in mine that don't seem belong to anything! Lol!
Next time you go to your dealership take it with you and see if they can tell you. Be sure, though, you tell them you want to keep it even if they can't find anywhere it goes to.

Take your pic or give the part number to the dealer's parts manager. They can look it up in the parts system. Definitely keep it until you find where it goes. Good luck.

Wierd, it could be an extra left over from assembly. Instead of looking for a gap, see if there is a square around that size some where already. It kinda does look like an access panel.

Radio question: never had Sirius before. Is it normal to go silent for 1-2 seconds at times? Is this satellite issue, or should I take it to the dealer? I’m ok if this is expected, just don’t want to overlook something that needs fixing.

Mine goes quiet when the signal is blocked while driving yeah. Trees overpasses etc. Not sure if that’s what you’re experiencing though, if your overhead is clear & still does it?

Normal in an area with poor sat signal. I get it in heavy tree cover areas near me

Its a Jeep thing lol just kidding, yes it is normal. Sometimes the radio loses the satellite signal.

Normal, but sure is nice to have tunes while out in the boonies. I am enjoying the XM radio.
