on a positive note, by the time most of us get our 2 doors, there should be tons more aftermarket stuff available to waste money on...

Shit , my front bumpers already been sitting in my garage for a week.

Thread news got me excited so I just checked my status: order date 1-22-18 2dr Rubi V6 Auto Hard Top 3xbillet still in "D" Chanchal at Chat said 2 drs begin 2nd week of April. I've ordered lots of vehicles in the past NONE drove me this mad !

Any new opinions about price increase? Think my dealer will try to raise my entry fee?

I officially threw in the towel on Saturday and cancelled my order. JeepCares had asked me last Wednesday to send them a PM with my concerns (long lead time with no communication, removal of Offroad Pages) which I did immediately, hoping to get some concise answers on production.

Come Friday afternoon with no response, I decided I'm not spending Rubicon money for this buying experience and went to my dealer to drop back down to my original Sport S plan, fully intending to see what 2019/2020 brought for a rapid trade-in (two sales to one customer in a year is a good thing, right?). Dealer told me that I could not cancel because I was in D status, and my Jeep was already in production. I asked the Sales Manager about the Wednesday call, which he admitted he missed last week, so we went and got the slide deck showing April 9th 2.0t production starts (ordered a V6 manual). Still told me I can't cancel the Rubi to order the Sport.

Saturday, I was browsing local dealer websites out of frustration and found an awesome 2015 in Anvil with only 15,000 miles on for very reasonable money. Within two hours it was mine. While they were drawing the paperwork up, I drove over to the Jeep dealer and demanded my refund back. All of a sudden they CAN cancel the order! How convenient :)

I wasn't going to post anything crying about how I didn't want to wait for my JL, and why did I have to wait months to order Sting-Gray when they're STILL not building 2-doors and I'm at the back of the order line, and the Offroad pages which isn't a dealbreaker alone but just added to the burn... until JeepCares just sent me a PM, 6 days later. I got the same canned response that Jeep Chat gives about D status, parts are being scheduled, blah blah. All I asked in my original communication was for a realistic range that my Jeep would hit production. Like a month. May? June? From that I could estimate shipping time (June/July?) and have an idea of when I could plan my first vacation to the beach with my new Jeep.

Communication with your customers, especially ones spending $40k with you and excitedly telling everyone they know about their order and how nice the JL is, is so important. When I'm asked why I picked up a JK, I'm saying I was disappointed with the customer experience with FCA and this order, and I decided that they hadn't earned my business this year.

I'm sure the local Ford dealer that took my JK in on trade for a new pickup truck is happy enough with the outcome!

Now for all of you committed more than I was to adopt early, stay excited! Don't be like me having to return my side steps to Quadratec because you got excited and ordered them months before the Jeep would come LOL :)

I've enjoyed reading these forums for many months now, and I'll keep popping in to see what next year's roadmap looks like.

N75, I don't blame you for picking up a JK after you ordered a JL. I did the same thing. FCA is not handling this very well. Maybe we can get a two door JL in a year or two. In the meantime, enjoy your Jeep! :like:

I ordered a 2dr rubicon, softtop and pretty loaded, 12/15, and like many, getting pretty frustrated but also concerned we are buying a model year old new Jeep. I currently have a 16 & 17 rubicon and do not need a new one but excited about the jl. I am concerned with jeep's lack of attention and wonder if the product will reflect in their lack of customer service. I’ve discussed cancelling and my dealer and he gave me a number to call to try and get a few answers. If I get the same old stock answer with no thought, I will probable go another direction. I guess that’s my venting.....

I don't blame you one bit Jesse. I tried to cancel my order only to be told the same thing. After a lot of arguing, I've lost my $500 deposit and all respect for my dealer. Actually ended up at another dealer and went an entirely new direction in picking up a new Trackhawk. I sure wish things would have worked out different but it is what it is.

I talked to my dealer today as I ordered mine before the price increase and the destination charge increase, he said my price was locked in from when I ordered.

I wonder if Jeep is noticing they're getting cancellations left and right on this thing? Every bit justified, too. Months of delays, scheduling to start production with a 2.0t 2 door that no early adopter ordered, price hike.

What the hell is going on in Italy?

I'm wondering if I want to trust a lightly used JK long term. I want the newness so bad, but I also have expectations spending thirty grand on a vehicle with twenty five grand of equipment.

When I heard that Fiat was taking over Jeep, I thought, the Italians who were blundering idiots in WWII are taking over Jeep! $#%&*. and now that I've seen the f**k up they've done with the 2 doors it all makes sense. Man up Jeep, and make all 2018 2 doors 2019 models, and add in the off road pages, after-all Jeep has is so far behind on their production schedule at this point why not?

Sorry, I'm new to this thread and this is the first I am hearing about the price increase. I placed my order on February 8th. Wondering if I was effected and if so, how much...Can anyone tell me when the increase went into effect and how much it was...Thanks.

There’s always going to be someone who brags about how much more money they saved than you. I think if you are happy with the price you paid then you got a great deal.
