This just in from my dealer:
- you are correct that the factory won't start 2dr builds till mid-April.
- the Rubicon will have the off road pages - they're in the dash cluster with your spedometer & tach.
- the Rubicon will also have the 2inch lift from factory.

REALLY!!!!! D1!!!!!!! as of today on a 2 door!!!!! Okay, maybe I am overstimulated by this news.

YEP - I just looked on the list, pretty darn exciting as you are the only D1 2 door on there.

Spotted in Maryland today...

I went past it and almost threw my neck out when I realized it was a 2 door JL. I went and talked to the guy and it turned out he was an automotive journalist and had it for the week to do a write-up on it. As you can see from the 2nd shot, Michigan Manufacturer plates on it. I was a bit surprised that it wasn't loaded down with accessories. Sport, cloth seats, 7 inch U Connect. The guy was really nice and let me climb in it and we talked for a bit before I had to move on.

Did you by chance tell the journalist the manufacturing issues that FCA is having and the frustration its causing for the 2 doors buyers to investigate and write an escalation news.

I actually mentioned several items that have been frustrating the Jeep community, and that was indeed one of them.

Still haven't seen a 2 door... even the pre-production models at my local auto show were 4 door auto only.

My local dealership is finally getting a 6MT in next week, which I'll go test drive. I'll get a feel for the manual, then later I'll get a feel for the 2 door, then I'll order both

I think I've seen that exact 2 door on a youtube review or two. I doubt too many grey 2 door low option press cars are kicking around.

I find it interesting and somewhat frustrating that I just got an Email from Jeep advertising the 2 dr JL and all its great attributes, but they can't seem to make but a few to spread around to the auto press and some car shows.

I get weekly updates from my dealer (on Fridays) and as of last Friday it was still in D on their end. As for chat... I haven't checked.
