Long time lurker, have been really excited about the 2-door, order been in for awhile, disappointed like everyone with everything. I'm going to cancel and get the new G wagon 4x4. It's beautiful...

Kidding of course...my salary is not in the same universe to afford one (MSRP 227K). I admittedly have always had a thing for the G wagon (the only Benz I ever liked in any way, shape, or form), interesting to see them making a "true off-road" one. Just wanted to throw this out to everyone as a little distraction. Try to have a great weekend!

They put a crazy amount of work into that rig but we looked at the 550 when we got the wife's RR and it drove like ass, has a weird seating to wheel position and really just seems like they tacked nice finishes onto a UPS truck...

JB!? Doesn't that mean they're actively working on it?
JB – shipped to body vendor (typically for decals/stripes)

At the risk of being sacrilegious on a Jeep thread, this is my back-up instead of a 4 door Jeep.

But I don't want that. I want a 2 door Jeep. I drive on tight fire roads. Smaller = better. I am already nervous that the JL is wider than my TJ. I just wish Jeep would treat the 2 door folks better.

How do you track your JL after receiving the VIN? Do I have to be at the mercy of the dealer for that? Ordered my JL on February 20th and just received the VIN from the dealer yesterday (cause I called and asked) so I have little faith that they will keep me up to date come April when the builds start.
The other reason being I’m private selling my Trailhawk and I need to know when I can let it go because it is my only vehicle till I get the JL.

Ok, so I just came from my dealer. I visually saw the powerpoint slide printed out that stated 2-door production starts on 4/9 with 2.0t automatics. Sales manager brought it out as he missed the meeting Wednesday.

Tried to cancel my Rubicon order and go for a much more basic setup for this year, do my big spend when all this production nonsense has settled down. Sales manager told me it's in D status, which is in production with serial number, can't be cancelled.

I then tried to change some options - drop to 7" Uconnect since they took away offroad pages, save a couple hundred even with Alpine. Also wanted to switch to soft top since BesTop won't be making stock matched tops this year, and nobody from the dealer can tell me if a soft top can be ordered and for how much, and I really want it for the summer. Sales manager said he couldn't change options since it's in production, but he would reach out to see what he can do.

So my best guess why a ton of us haven't dropped back to C status is because if it's in D, the dealer can't cancel the order in their system. I watched him hit the button and get the alert that it can't be done. Maybe they can call FCA, don't know.

I'm really getting pretty angry. No response from @JeepCares PM they requested in two days, and I doubt many 2-doors will be built before May sometime. I'm getting ready to go ask for my deposit back and buy a freaking Tacoma. Never had such a bad experience with a car purchase before, and it's really not the dealers fault.

All I'm saying is this posted timeline is about as official as all of the other incorrect info we've been getting from the various sources since the inception of the JL Wrangler.

Why would FCA honestly give three craps about what we people think? There is no substitute for a Jeep Wrangler there is no competition anywhere. They will continue to sell hundreds of thousands of Wranglers at a profit; even the examples that are being sold at 5% or 6% under invoice.

Another thing is the number of people on this forum or who regularly read this forum are a significant minority. Does your voice really matter? From what I've seen with the collection of untruthful responses we read or hear from dealer reps, misinformed dealer salespeople, FCA and JeepCares; OUR VOICES DON'T MATTER. They can and will do what they want to do only in the interest of FCA.

First let me say I don't disagree with much of what you have said, But if no one (us) communicated about how unhappy many of us are (5 of my last 6 vehicles have been Jeep vehicles and I have a new JL ordered 2/5) we could be pretty sure things would be NO worse than they are now. How do we know this forum and others are having no impact? It's kind of like being unhappy and complaining about our politicians but not voting in elections.

I worked in upper management for 32 years in a fortune 100 company, let me tell you, brand reputation is a big deal and if it isn't for Jeep - they don't get it.

Ignoring the price gouging, 4 door buyers are getting treated... decently.

2 door buyers are just getting screw after screw. Building 2.0t's first??? All the early orders were for 3.0's! How nice is it to make customers that figured they'd definitely have their wrangler by March, having ordered even in December, wait til May?

I'm going to take a guess that some kind of product phasing/schedule guy at FCA deserves a sacking.

X2 on the Tacoma thing. For the price of a Sport S JLU, you have a loaded Tacoma TRD Offroad... with a locking rear diff and tons of tech.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope the new Bronco offers a manual trans and removable roof. Competition!

I ordered 2 dr Rubi fairly loaded on 2/5, was in 'D' almost immediately. Would have ordered sooner but Ocean Blue and prem. soft top could not be ordered sooner. I have been checking weekly with Jeep chat and dealer. Two days ago Jeep chat told me that I was in 'D' but it had only been in 'D' for 3 days...I had checked with them weekly for 4 weeks and each time prior I was told 'D'.
