Thanks and yeah, give it a try! I hope to do it twice. But don't think I will make it a third time unless the model 19 years from now comes with built in life support and automatic rascal scooter launch. ;)
Ordered hardtop Rubicon on 2/1 and picked it up this week. Happy with it after a week of driving and no regrets on the purchase (or wating) to replace my TJ. Still breaking it in and no off roading yet, but I have to say I've been blown away by the turning radius. I mean, I expected all the nice...
I use my Jeep on a fire road that I have to maintain.
I am often putting a shovel, pick or chainsaw in the back. Fine in my TJ.
When my nice new 2-door JL eventually shows up, I would prefer to be able to clip these tools to a receiver rack on the outside. At least the shovel. Quicker access and...
Just got this update "Our resources indicate your vehicle has been released by the plant and is currently in the shipping stages. Due to the high volume of all-new Wrangler models in the shipping stage, the suppliers that transport our vehicles are backlogged and working as quickly as they can...
In JBR status with no delivery date set.
Not sure what they are waiting on, but ordered 2/1/18 - Granite Rubicon/Tan Leather interior. Body Color Hardtop with almost all options.
Sigh...
Great info. Thanks for posting! My 99 TJ doesn't have a chime and I was afraid I'd have to deal with one after my JL comes in. I'm often on dirt roads going 10-15 mph with frequent stops to clear tree limbs, open gates, etc. When I'm in a different vehicle, having a chime or having to clip in...
Speculating, but D1 could just mean the start of the line in April. They might be prepping the parts for the first ones to be built, which would make sense to me for the first couple of weeks of production. As they start production and they work their way down the queue, more get added as D1, etc.
Re-reading some 'old' reviews from when the JL was first announced to make me feel better about waiting.

The new-for-2018 features read like the answer to so many Jeeper’s prayers: a leaned back rear...
My 'asphalt crawler' comment was not a judgement about anyone who has a Jeep and doesn't drive in the dirt. My good friend bought a 4 door JKU last year and loves it. He's gotten it dirty once. Who cares, fun car and I totally agree it is where the money is.
I'm also very sure there are 4-door...
Come for the info, stay for the whining!
New model delays are nothing new, but what I think gets to me (and maybe others) is
1) lack of communication
2) de-prioritizing the Jeep 'base'
We all know the money is in the asphalt crawlers, but the whole Jeep ethos comes from the core off road...
At the risk of being sacrilegious on a Jeep thread, this is my back-up instead of a 4 door Jeep.
But I don't want that. I want a 2 door Jeep. I drive on tight fire roads. Smaller = better. I am already nervous that the JL is wider than my TJ. I just wish Jeep would treat the 2 door folks better.
Maybe a sensor issue instead of a software
The whole thing is indeed disappointing. Beyond all the other financial impacts of the delay, now this may hit re-sale value.
2 door Rubicon Hardtop ordered 2/1. Dealer is saying production Mid-April, delivery for me beginning of May.
I have a '99 Sahara that we bought new and spent the first 4 years as a daily driver. She's a bit long in the tooth now, but still going.
Over the last 18 years I didn't see a big...
Ordered a 2-door Rubicon Feb 1st. Dealer said last week he expects it end of March.
This thread is making me think the dealer might be mistaken. What are folks seeing for delivery times?
I'll wait for a 2 door regardless. No interest in a 4 door.
