Also to stick it in a bit further we get to pay an extra $750 price increase from the initial price release. Jeep is going to garbage. At this point a JK leftover is looking good..... but that’s what they want you to do so I persist!

This is extremely sad. I've been lurking on here for awhile then joined with excitement and was ready to order a Rubicon 2 door. After seeing the delays on production being moved farther and farther away and now the uconnect issue, I think I may just look for something else. Wasn't like I had to have it. I was just looking for something fun to ride around and give my truck a break when it wasn't really needed. Really disappointed

I've had three Jeeps, and this may be my last if competition is around in five years, maybe Toyota or Ford / Chevy will have something that gives the wrangler a run for their money.

Absolutely disgusted with Jeep, Mike Manley, and the contractors that are Jeep Cares which only give the most basic non informative excuses known to man.:angry::mad::lipssealed:

I emailed Jeep and got this response: "... the Off-Road Pages will not be available for the 2018 Jeep Wrangler/Wrangler Unlimited model year; nor will they be available as a software update". Word for word.

So I'm seriously thinking of canceling. I have a few points in support of that, but interested if anyone has ones I didn't think of:

  • Delays - won't be getting it until May/June anyway
  • Chance to test drive - want to see how the soft top sounds, 2-door handles, etc
  • no Offroad Pages - my Jeep is used offroad about 50% of the time, and I use the instrument panel for the digital speedometer, so the center display was going to be the ORPs
  • more time for parts - there aren't many lifts, bumpers, wheels, etc out yet.
  • resale confusion with 2018 JKs - I think it hurts 2018 JL values that 2018 JKs are still out, since they are both often only referred to as "2018 Wranglers"
  • avoiding any other early adopter problems

All I'm saying is this posted timeline is about as official as all of the other incorrect info we've been getting from the various sources since the inception of the JL Wrangler.

Why would FCA honestly give three craps about what we people think? There is no substitute for a Jeep Wrangler there is no competition anywhere. They will continue to sell hundreds of thousands of Wranglers at a profit; even the examples that are being sold at 5% or 6% under invoice.

Another thing is the number of people on this forum or who regularly read this forum are a significant minority. Does your voice really matter? From what I've seen with the collection of untruthful responses we read or hear from dealer reps, misinformed dealer salespeople, FCA and JeepCares; OUR VOICES DON'T MATTER. They can and will do what they want to do only in the interest of FCA.

Im also pretty disappointed in pretty much everything ive seen from Jeep so far.
Its almost impossible that its not possible to fix with a software (or firmware) update. There must be some other motive behind that move

I asked that same question, and got this response:

I'm contacting my dealer to see if they can get a better response. The funny (or sad) thing here is that they said "hold off on"... when in actuality it was removed.

Maybe a sensor issue instead of a software
The whole thing is indeed disappointing. Beyond all the other financial impacts of the delay, now this may hit re-sale value.

I’m guessing the 2018s are getting leftover Chrysler 8.4 unconnect models and Jeep is cutting corners by not using new uconnect models that are capable of using the off-road software....anybody know Mike Manley’s email....he deserves some “fan” mail :rain:

I went from D to C to D to C and now back to D. I probably should stop looking until after April fools day.
