My 2020 JLUR 2.0T (29K miles) threw codes P0017 and P000A today. I cleared them out and they came back in less than a minute of idling. Runs rough at idle but seems to run fine/drive normally (in limited testing) with throttle.
Checked oil level (dipstick) and pressure (dash readout) and everything appears normal. Correct viscosity and changed routinely... appears clean. About 1500mi on this (full synthetic) change.
Visually looked over the CMP/CKP harnesses as well as I could see them without pulling things out of the bay, and didn't see any obvious issues.
Planning to order parts 68080819AD (CMP) and 4893746AA (CKP) as I'm hoping one is the culprit. I hate just throwing parts at issues but one or the other seems like a good place to start. I could test them, but they're not easy to get to and the parts aren't too expensive so I plan to just grab and swap (cam first).
I'm not finding much on these codes on this forum, so I assume this isn't a common issue on this engine. The factory warranty aged out a couple weeks ago and regardless, the nearest dealer is over an hour and a half away from my [remote] current location.
Am I missing anything obvious or are there other things I should look for that would cause these to be thrown together on this engine? If it skipped time or had an actual timing related issue, I don't believe it would run, at least not well as it does with throttle... however I'm not sure why it would have rough idle if it were just a sensor... unless that's the ECU trying to compensate in some way or perhaps VVT is acting up?
