First 1000 miles 25.5 hand calculated, including both city and Interstate. Very satisfied with my 2.0. Regular 87 octane fuel only.

2020 JLUR. I’ve got 1600 miles on it now and I am at 16.5. It was running 15.9 for the first 800 or 1000 miles. I do not understand how anybody’s getting in the 20s with this thing. Makes me really wonder if there’s something wrong with my like an injector that’s putin too much fuel or a sensor that’s not calibrated right? My jeep is all stock stock tires stock wheels. I don’t drive like a maniac. Mixed driving with 70 miles an hour being the fastest I’ve gone in it.

21 JLUR, 300 miles, 93 octane. Internal calc saying I'm averaging 18-20 combined. After next fill up I'll have my own calculations running. Hoping to test 87 octane too, before Chicago area changes over to winter fuel mix.

2020 JL Recon and I’m running between 14.7 - 15.5. I don’t see how people are getting in the 20’s either. Even with the most modest driving, this thing wouldn’t get past 16 MPG. It has the etorque motor, so I chalked it up to that encouraging a heavier foot. I suppose some motors just work harder than others for whatever number of reasons.

Spent a decent amount of time on the highway this weekend. At 70 mph, internal calc says we were getting 19.5-19.7. Otherwise, most of our driving is city, or country roads (40-55 mph) where we're averaging 19.7-20.0 mpg.

‘18 JLUS with 16K, has drank 87 exclusively since new. Too lazy to calculate by hand but display was reading 28.0 avg last night on the way home. Most driving is rural/highway, very little city stop and go. Last year, returning from a trip from SC, the avg displayed was briefly above 31! As the miles go up, this 2.0 just seems to be getting better and better!

You might try disconnecting the battery for 30+ minutes or so to reset the computer and let it relearn your driving habits and see if that helps. My wife was getting 17 mpg in her old 2013 JK. She now gets 22 mpg in her JLU Recon, same roads and driving style.

I’ll give it a shot.

I would give it a shot. Mine is consistently mid 20’s. The only way mine will get below that is if i am really hot ridding it, and even then it does 20....

I am thinking the same - cannot believe people are getting 25??? What fuel are you running?

Those getting in the low to mid 20's are typically the Sport and Sahara owners. Their 3.45 gear ratio is better suited for fuel economy vs. the Rubicon's 4.10's.

My lifted 2018 JLUR gets 18ish mpg (on 37's and 4.10 gears) and that's with a 17 year old driving it. My stock 2019 JLUR gets 20-21 mpg.

I’ve been running premium since day one. I told my dealer I’d like them to check over the engine because of the poor fuel mileage when I bring it in for the steering box replacement and he laughed and said jeeps aren’t known for getting great gas mileage. I explained that I am online reading a thread with a bunch of owners with the same exact motor and they’re getting great mileage and he didn’t sound too interested in trying to diagnose it for me under warranty.

Premium gas will actually have a bit lower BTUs per gallon than regular due to the additives used to raise the octane.

It's counter-intuitive, but you have to burn a bit more premium to go the same distance. If it has ethanol in it you are taking another hit.

We run ethanol free regular gasoline in ours and it is still mid-20s despite my lead footed wife's best efforts.
