  1. Lets see those sexy 2drs (pictures zone)

Nice. THAT looks like the perfect stance for a 2 door JL! You nailed it.
  2. 2 Door Sports on 34"s?

The narrow footprint has benefits at times. Turns a little better, less likely to pop off the bead. Squeeze through places that wider might not. They did surprisingly well in sand aired down. On a lighter vehicle I don’t think you give up much flotation. On a full size truck or a diesel 4-dr...
  3. Lets see those sexy 2drs (pictures zone)

We were just airing down tires. Old Mack is 13 years old and pretty much has to ride these days. Best Jeep dog ever.

Some Sand Hollow from a few weeks back: Could use some swaybar disconnects!
  5. 2 Door Sports on 34"s?

Big fan of the 34x10.50 r17. 7 lbs lighter than the 315 or the 35 and measure out at 33.5" tall. We ran them on another Jeep (Not a JL) for years. Worked well on and off road. The problem is they are ~$80 per tire more than the 315/70R17 and a bit harder to find. (I guess noone wants to pay...
  6. 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine

2.0L turbos are such a basic recipe that even Fiat can’t F@$& it up! :CWL:
  7. 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine

My wife in her 2.0L, me in my car that is speced 0-60 in 7.1 seconds; Side by side at a red light. She taunts me to race… I lol. No way a Jeep is gonna beat me… We launched. I spun the tires a little and pull slightly ahead. Then she blows by me and is about 2-Dr Jeep length ahead of me by the...
  8. Anyone have 2.0 Turbo regret?

I went looking for towing capacities- according to multiple Jeep dealers the 2-dr is rated at 2,000lbs max. The 4-dr is rated for 3,500lbs max with either motor. Makes sense as the weight, wheelbase, and braking capabilities are probably a larger consideration than how much power you need. Our...

Sell those tires and buy ATs. Problem solved. My hunch is that the Willys Package is intended to honor the heritage and none of those came with quiet tires. They used NDTs which howled almost as loud as the transfer case!
  10. End of first day with the Wrangler 4XE thoughts / feedback

The 2016 and up Chevy Volts triggers the brake lights whenever the power returning to the battery exceeds 14kw. Remember downshifting in a stick shift?? It feels similar to that level of deceleration. I’m going to guess Jeep is doing something similar. Early hybrids didn’t have this feature...
  11. ALUMINUM bumpers ONLY. Let's see them!

Lots of threads with steel bumpers too. Great user name - funny song from the old days !
  12. ALUMINUM bumpers ONLY. Let's see them!

Rock hard aluminum mid. Very nicely made, good quality hardware included, and easy to install. Also opted for Rockhard tow bar mount and Gear America Aluminum D-shackles. Super light front bumper setup; no noticeable difference in the height of the front end. Handles like stock.
  13. Driver's seat stuck folded forward

We have a passenger seat stuck forward for 3 weeks now; essentially making the Jeep useless for more than 1 person. Dealer has had "parts on order" the entire time. Found a few plastic bits on the floor around the rails. I was going to pull the entire seat out, but I noticed that the front...
  14. 2.0 Turbo average MPGs

Short trips- the motor never fully warms up so it's always running a bit rich. Our mileage has dropped a bit to an average of 20.5 mpg.
  15. 2.0 Turbo average MPGs

Premium gas will actually have a bit lower BTUs per gallon than regular due to the additives used to raise the octane. It's counter-intuitive, but you have to burn a bit more premium to go the same distance. If it has ethanol in it you are taking another hit. We run ethanol free regular...
  16. 2.0 Turbo average MPGs

So many variables... Tire's rolling resistance, pattern, width, and individual driving styles... I think your 2 MPG is about right. When my lead-footed spouse takes the wheel MPG goes down 2-3 MPG over when my conservative, borderline hyper-miler style is used.
  17. 2.0 Turbo average MPGs

79 mph is gonna kill fuel economy in any vehicle. Especially these bricks.
  18. 2.0 Turbo average MPGs

Better than expected. No issues on icy or snow packed roads. Very predictable and tractable. I was nervous about them before I had the chance to drive them in some bad storms. They are still fairly new. Story might change as they wear out. Like almost all tires.

If you are going to do aftermarket rear bumper don’t worry about a tow kit. Just get a bumper that has it built in.
