A one time thing doesn't mean it can handle it. It even states they don't recommend it. So what does that tell you lol.
Yup you’re right since they haven’t figured it out they never will.

Ooh, that race truck looks sweet. It could be a real good indication of what some of the body lines and grille will look like.

Is 2069 when I will be able to buy a Bronco?

Looks like a new version of the 1st gen Baja Bronco. Definitely could look pretty close to that though.

Possible leaked pics of the Bronco? Looks insanely badass if true.
The EB in the back is Rod Hall's Baja racer. Not sure about the newer looking one.
Rod Hall passed away this year. He was a long time Baja racer.

I expect that prototype is a very strong indicator of what the body lines will be. It looks like they did a good job with the body design. I think that this is also indicative of where the Bronco Raptor will be catered towards as well. Ford is already investing money into high speed desert based off road vehicles.

If anything electric motors will be MORE reliable than gas engines. There’s a hell of a lot less to go wrong with it. There are already Tesla Model S’s out there with over *550k miles with only a replacement of the battery pack, so the technology to bring that to a Jeep is going to be here sooner rather than later. The possibilities are endless too. No pumpkin, exhaust, transmission, transfer case, basically anything on the underbody just one giant skid plate to protect the battery. You could get some sick ground clearance.

When I take electronics out into the dirt/water/vibration of offroad use...they aren't nearly as reliable as ICEs. Electric fans, radios, Aternators (though belt driven), shorted 12Vs, winch solenoids, offroad lights...I've had ALL of those fail on the trail...never had an engine stop working. YMMV.

The article also stated that it is based on the T6 platform of the new Bronco, so I am certain that we can finally put the solid axle rumors to bed permanently.
