arg this is terrible. How does it work with a dealer if you already put a $500 deposit down? Do you lose it?Just talked to Executive Manager I know for Jeep who is working my case. Don't know she only told me April start .... and she told me she is watching for me and let me when there will be a update. So April for all 2dr hard top auto? I'm assuming may for 2 dr soft manual
You have a contract, they can’t back out on the deal. Just like if you back out, they can keep the $500. While that’s not the best for business and they probably wouldn’t do it. Everyone knew, or should’ve known going into the contract that it was completely up in the air when the 2-door would arrive. Even on schedule, a February softop order could very well have been May or June from the start, for instance.arg this is terrible. This makes sense - dealers need to sell what is on the lot, and that includes a ton of 2017 to 2018 JKs. That is a lot harder to do with JLs rolling up. FCA just trying to capture every dollar possible. Great. If this turns out to be true my plan of an epic trip home from Idaho will be ruined as it is not fun trying to hike and offroad the Moab area when Summer tourist season is in full swing and it is hot as hades.opening order banks so early was dumb.
it sets false expectations, while helping FCA plan volume and demand even when they likely saw this delay coming last year. they kept jk going, did an absurd 2018 jk that only clouds their big JL release...and it’s hard to believe that they can’t anticipate market absorption for their builds
my gut says FCA is throttling JL 2-door production to drive absorption of the JK line, timing it out to pair off with the peak spring “jeep buyer window” - during which time JL orders sit idle and shift toward june/july delivery. i anticipate absurd discounts on the 2-door JK lineup this spring.
Just confirmed that I am still in D status as well. However, Jeep Chat did admit that 2 door production will begin in early April and it typically takes 10-12 weeks to complete the build process (does not include delivery).Today according to Jeep Cares chat and my dealer.....my 2 dr is still in D status. So this is confusing when others are being told all 2 doors were moved back to C?
I call shenanigans. The builds will start in April, with true sold orders being built before dealer stock. EDIT: not doubting you, FLSteve!! Just have very little faith in the Jeep chat crew. For what it's worth ... I just did a Jeep Chat and was told the 2-doors should start showing up at dealers in April. Last I heard from my dealer, I was still in D status.
