New owner of a Moab and happy with the choice so far. Here's why I picked the Moab over a Rubicon:
  • Selec-Trac - Depending on the day, the roads in Maine can be bare, icy, or snow covered. Not unusual to encounter those conditions during a short drive on the same day. Selec-Trac is perfect for those conditions and if the wife is driving, I can leave it engaged, no worries.
  • KM2 Tires - Ideal for the muddy conditions in Maine. When not a daily driver, the Moab will be used for overlanding, remote hunting, mountain biking, etc. A Rubicon with lockers and disconnects isn't needed.
  • Comfort - It's a daily driver, comfortable and with enough amenities to live with on a daily basis.
I do wish the Moab had Rubicon high top fenders and I'm planning to change them out. Would also prefer lower gearing, but I think the Rubicon isn't low enough anyway to make a difference. Not a rock crawler and likely would never have used the Rubicon features. I'd rather use the Moab at it's maximum capabilities than have a Rubicon and drive it like a poser. I bet my Moab will spend more time offroad than most Rubicons.

Driving a MOAB is a little like wearing your wife’s panties. It might cover your ass, but you don’t want anyone you know to see you!;)
Ah, hell.

I'm not so sure anyone wants to see me in my own underwear...

I think it’s safe to say I’d rather see you in your underwear than OUT of your underwear.
