Rear defroster is dead

I was noticing the traces on my rear window looked terrible. All discolored and rusty looking. I haven't needed my rear defroster but I'd be shocked if it actually worked. I'll check the area where it connects to see if its broken.

Add me to the group. Passenger side connector had popped at the solder point. Taking it in during lunch today.

I'm calling my dealer this morning to have it taken care of.

I went down to my dealership this morning and they took photos of the rear defroster connection to send to FCA. I got a call from them this afternoon telling me that FCA had approved the warranty work and they ordered a new rear window.

I went down to my dealership this morning and they took photos of the rear defroster connection to send to FCA. I got a call from them this afternoon telling me that FCA had approved the warranty work and they ordered a new rear window.
I have a feeling rear windows will be in short supply. Get them while you can.

I have a feeling rear windows will be in short supply. Get them while you can.
I'm curious as to whether they aren't already in short supply. I guess I'll find out soon enough. The dealership told me they don't come from FCA but rather directly from the vendor so they can't check their system to see if they're in stock or not.

Drivers side joint came detached.
We’ve now been waiting 6 weeks for a new rear window to arrive. ETA is apparently 11th Dec.
I asked what if the rear glass was broken? Their reply was cover it with cardboard.... For almost 8 weeks... Not acceptable.
Love the Jeep but the warranty aftercare has been a bit underwhelming so far.

Today was the first day since I bought it the windows were completely frosted over. I remote started it while I was getting ready for work but when I went outside all my windows were defrosted except for the back. So then I went into climate hit the rear defroster and it showed it was on. I drove to work about 10 minutes with the defroster light on the dash and under climate. The window was still completely iced over. I guess I’m calling the dealership again tomorrow already called them about the rear defroster cable just hanging there and they just put a new post on it. Sounds like they need to replace the whole setup.
Mine too. Dealer said window is on back order, and apparently they’ve had a few in for it. I have to say 5 months and 6,000 miles I’m about over this Jeep. Makes me sad, I miss my hard rock...

Hopefully they made improvements to the solder joint on the replacements.

Mine is broken off on the passenger side.
My new, first ever Jeep only has 700 miles on it and this is its third issue. It wanders all over the road requiring constant steering input to keep it going straight, the radio needed a software update because it was having usb issues and the clock wasn’t keeping time and now the rear defroster is busted.
So far, I’m not very impressed with quality of this thing. I’ve had 4 new F150s in the last ten years and have had no problems with any of them.

I think it's probably time for you to find a new dealership to do business with.
