Sounds super, what's your build?
Sport S - 2 door Granite Crystal, 2.0L, Premium Audio, Safety Group, Convenience Group, Technology Group, Tube Steps, Hard Top, Tow pkg, All Terrain Tires and Granite Wheels.

Using my 33's from my JK, new 1.75" spacers, AVS hood protector, grill inserts and decals waiting in the garage. I'm only 5' tall and it's my daily ride so bigger tires and lift make it difficult to get in. Still looking for a soft top

I ran the Trektop NX on my JK and really liked it. Looks like early 2019 they will have the NX available for the 2 door JL too as they are available at quadratec now with expected delivery in February I believe.

Being the start of winter hopefully the availability of all 2 door parts and after market tops will be there come spring. I have the premium soft top on my JL and still on the fence about switching out to the NX when they are available next spring as the new design is really nice as well.

Hahahaha! I know what you mean! Brings back the more fun feeling of the anticipation.
The wait for the owners of the 2019s will be a more enjoyable experience than ours was! :jk:

Many of us put our build (and the tracking of it) in our signatures. It kept us from having to answer the "what's your build?" question a hundred times! Lol!

What did you like about the NX and what did you not like? I am on the fence as to what I want to do about a soft top

I had the twill NX on my JK and now the twill premium on my JL and will say that the fabric is worth the extra price over the standard sailcloth.

I loved the zipperless feature of the NX and overall ease of use. I also liked the safari top feature, simply remove windows and go. As for looks, i think the fast back look looks way better on a jeep, especially the 2 doors.

All that said, the new JL soft top has all that I liked except for the fast back look and I'm starting to appreciate the little bit of "extra" storage that the square back of the stock JL has over the fast back NX style. You really cannot go wrong with the NX in my opinion though and I would definitively recommend the twill however as it is noticeably quieter and of higher quality than the sailcloth.

Same question. Isn’t the NX frameless, meaning it doesn’t go down so sunrider, only? Does it do safari mode like the oem top?

Just sunrider with the NX it seems. I do like the look of the fastback though. I like the look of a bikini, duster, and windjammer as well though so we will see.

The two door 3.6 ESS isn’t going anywhere at this time. It’s listed as good available in the latest order guide. The online builder has always been notoriously buggy and unreliable and also agree they’re trying to push the 2.0 in general. If they make it mandatory on the two door it will for sure kill the rest of the sales of the two door but if they really wanted to move some turbos they should put it in the base model 4 door as standard.
I agree.... If they want to push the 2.0 in general, it should be on base model sports. I'm hoping you're right as far as the online builder goes. I specifically want a (2) door Rubicon with the the 3.6L and auto trans. Nothing against the the 2.0, but I don't want a 4cyl engine. I will however consider the 3.0 eco-diesel if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. If the 2.0 ends up being the only option for a (2) door Rubicon with auto trans then Jeep may have lost my future business.

Correct, I never take my top down all the way, not a fan of baking on the sun. Doors off, bikini/safari top and your in the shade, doesn’t get much better ;)

On my JK whenever I had the windows off the duster (tonneau cover) went on, never had the windjammer but hoping that they come out with all for the JL by next summer. With the tonneau you could throw crap underneath and not have to worry about it blowing out, also helps with gas mileage and I think it looks real slick

I didn't see any other threads on snatch blocks so can anyone recommend a good, reliable, American made snatch block? And some good shackles while you're at it!!! Lol! I'm looking on Amazon and seeing a bunch of different ones and it's confusing the crap out of me!
Thanks all!

Do you have steel or synthetic rope? You can always go with WARN or ARB for the snatch blocks but I am really curious to try one of the newer ideas of the aluminum snatch block coupled with the soft shackle. Of course, that would really only be applicable if you have synthetic rope. See
https://www.red-winches.com/products/snatch-ring-8t/267/ for an example but they look really promising and about the same price or cheaper than a good named traditional snatch block. As for shackles, I have a combination of soft and steel shackles, each having its different strengths and purposes. As for names, Crosby is a good brand but there are others that are fine. There are so many makers of soft shackles out there at this point, a list is almost impossible. And even with that, if you can source the rope, you can make a few of your own reasonably as I have done. I like to get my rope from Go2marine.com and the videos I used to tie the knot at the end for the best strength is at https://www.animatedknots.com/softshacklestronger/index.php although there are other videos there and on other sites.
