On a brand new Jeep, it would be insane not to expect an unaltered wiring harness. That would absolutely be a deal breaker for me, especially if it was not disclosed.
Mine are holding up well although I still find pros and cons with them. I learned them early on and it hasn't changed. I don't regret putting them on but the main reason that I got them was that I just didn't feel like taking the cloth seat covers off to put the seat heaters on the seats. But...
There are a lot of things that I miss about a TJ. The fact that it is nowhere near as big as the JL is a big one. The electronics can be nice on the JL but the ease and convenience of not having all of that dammed electronics in the way has its advantages as well. KISS method.
Yes, the only change they made was to the cosmetic ring to save a few cents on each one by using less screws. But those few cents add up. The wheels are still beadlock capable so they haven't changed them and they still have the same number of "holes" in it for a beadlock ring so you should be...
I've heard some people say that they see that but I'm not sure where anyone sees the mirror. I'm also not sure where people are seeing the 2-door gladiator that some say. This is just a magneto with the fenders from the flatbill, like others have pointed out and a different color filter. I...
Although I don't entirely dislike this grill, I don't know that I'd want it on mine. I just am not sure about the "virtual" 7 slot grill yet. At least it isn't a constipated grill, though.
Yeah, a Jeep is the wrong vehicle for a person who is so concerned with mpg (not directed at you). As I have told many people, a Jeep is definitely a compromise vehicle and its not for everyone.
I agree with you on this. I loved my TJ X model because of the simplicity of it. While I did trade it for a Rubicon, and do like the conveniences of it, I intentionally got almost the most basic option (added LED package and auto trans) that I could to avoid as many of the electronic...
While it doesn't look bad, don't underestimate how much of a role the wheels play in the weight of the tire/wheel combination. As everyone has said, the size (width and height), sidewall, and weight all play a part and should be accounted for or you don't really know what the effect is but...
I compared the choices of upgrading my TJ and buying a JL and, if it were just me, I would have built and beat the shit out of my TJ. But, especially with my wife and her back problems to consider, it made more sense to trade to a JL where I would have to do minimal work to get it to the point...
There are worlds of difference between adding $35 led bulbs into reflectors that they may or may not work well in and quality LED headlights, like what come on the Wrangler. The two aren't really even comparable.
I see your point but at some time, the age of the platform without any serious refreshes will hurt it and already do to a small extent. The transmission needs some desperate attention (extremely sluggish compared to my JL) for one. Yes, a plug in can help but an upgraded transmission would be...
