I didn't see any other threads on snatch blocks so can anyone recommend a good, reliable, American made snatch block? And some good shackles while you're at it!!! Lol! I'm looking on Amazon and seeing a bunch of different ones and it's confusing the crap out of me!
Thanks all!
Make sure you check the weight, you don't need to pull the full strength of your winch. I got one 9000lb one and its huge, the other two smaller ones i carry are ideal.

Another company that makes recovery gear that I forgot about the other day is Tactical Recovery Equipment, and they sell synth ropes, soft shackles, snatch blocks, etc... at reasonable prices. They also make and the original safety thimble that F55 copied (and mostly failed conceptually, imo) as well as smittybilt now. If you look at their FB page, they also sell a soft shackle based snatch block there that they don't offer on their website for some odd reason.

Anyone have any good suggestions for some nice 2-door metal side steps? I really like the 4-door Roam steps but it doesn't look like their 2-door version is coming out any time soon.

LOD says their Destroyer steps will be available "this winter" so I'm holding out for those

Well, my "winch" is a come-a-long! I don't have the cabbage for a new bumper and winch set up. So I want to at least have something to pull my butt out of the mud or sand when I'm out there alone. Haven't needed any recovery equipment yet, but one never knows.....!

Just seems weird to only push it for the slower selling 2 door Rubicon. Other than this forum, I assume the majority of 2 doors sold are Sport S, and the majority of Rubis are 4 doors. And I haven't read anything on this forum where people think the 3.6 Auto causes mechanical problems with the 2 door only.
I would think the opposite , serious off roaders who order the rubicon , want it in 2 door.

I just picked out a snatch block and shackles that were rated for 20k lbs.

I was just going off of what I've read, 4 doors outsell the 2 door by 4 to 1, or possibly even more. I have no idea how it breaks down across trim levels. There are also a lot of serious off roaders who prefer the longer wheelbase (and stability) of the 4 door.

Some people are assuming that Jeep is pushing the 2.0 in the 2.0 door Rubicon Auto for fleet fuel efficiency standards. Like it or not, real world or not, the 2.0 has better milage ratings than the 3.6. I have no idea what logic Jeep is using, but I do not think the omission of a 3.6/Auto/Rubi/2 door is a bug in the online builder.

For what its worth, I am picking up my order (3.6/Auto/Rubicon/2 doors) on Monday. I am not a serious off roader (subject to change).

I think 4 doors sell more because of people with families or the need for more cargo space. I can't see a more cumbersome, less agile vehicle being preferred for off road. I think the 4 door Jeeps look like an SUV or a stretch Jeep and would never have one. Here is a little info comparing thee 4 door and 2 door.

I intend to do more overland style wheeling but still prefer the 2 door maneuverability and form if I'm honest.

Highway driving, steep inclines, and cargo room take a hit, but it's worth it to me.

There is a group near me called the wanderers that overland and most have 4dr JKU's or equivalent. Alot of Toyotas in the group also. They definitely want the space

Agree, setting up my 2 door for overlanding is a challenge but very doable. Pros of a 2 door to me far out way any advantages that a 4 door may offer. No right or wrong answe here either, to each their own and enjoy driving your Jeep :like:
