On and working doesn't mean a heating element is working (if there is one at all). Based on the posts in the thread I linked saying their lights heated up, I'm thinking your lights should heat up too.
They heat up a little but not enough to keep up with snow build up while driving. If your parked as I was for a few minutes, yes, the snow will begin to melt but not hot enough to melt while driving.

I was wrong - it appears as if the heated LED headlights I remember seeing were for the JK. Nonetheless, I'm sure they'll be on the market for the JL soon with winter here.
Nothing against you bud, but I ain't buying sh**. Not one penny coming from me.

Calling Jeep first thing a.m. this a serious safety issue.

Look on the bright side... People won't be complaining that your lights are too bright and blinding them... :)

Heat is the enemy of LEDs... That is one of the concerns that I have with the aftermarket replacement bulbs that I bought for my headlights since they have a fan attached to the heatsink and that entire mechanism is sealed inside the JL's headlight assembly.
Yes, but a heated coil around or somehow incorporated into the lens is not rocket science.

I was responding to the guy that asked about them, not suggesting that you buy them.

Piss-poor design. We had our first bit of snow today and mine were covered with snow as well. LED’s don’t produce enough heat to keep the snow off while driving.

Would have been a nice thing at the very least to have included with the ‘cold weather package’. Jeep dropped the ball on this one! Not liking it at all!

Hello Jeep Cares??

With daylight savings time during winter gets dark very early. I dont leave work most times until 6-7ish by then it's dark out. I have a 20mile highway commute...am I suppose to pull over on the highway every 5minutes to clean off the lights??

That in itself is a serious safety issue.

Snow can accumulate on LED traffic lights in certain conditions too!

Poor design. This is the shortsighted design stuff that really pi$$es me off. Its dangerous as there are many places that wont have a viable pulloff within a 15min drive. Cant imagine the problems this will cause in places like northern mn at night or anywhere that regularly gets a lot of snow.

I guess one of the advantages of starting out with regular incandescent bulbs and replacing them with LED bulbs is that you can easily switch back to the incandescent if you need to. Not that I will likely ever have a problem with snow blocking the headlights around *here*... :) But, I did just get back from Nevada and I did run into a few places along I-40 near Albuquerque where snow had recently fallen. Coldest that I encountered was 14F... Brrrrrrrr....

Ugh...now I’m afrtomorder the LED. I’m in northern Illinois so a lot of snow and super cold temps. Specially the last few year -20 to -40 these lights might not even work

I think cold weather guys get trucklite ones, but I dont think they have a jl version. You might be able to go the bracket route if you dotn mind a 7 inch light in the 9 inch frame
