Reading these threads make me wonder how people are so judgmental. Hating other flavors.
As an owner of 4 Wranglers, YJ, TJ ,JK and now JL I've driven trails, mountains and even to work oh yes the dreaded MALLS.(how dare I) Taken doors and windsheild down. Who cares? Everyone should enjoy there Jeep how they like. What's cool about Jeeps is that they can do all even shopping for rocks.

Local dealer this weekend claims they can order, but I didn't actually pull the trigger to confirm yet. Waiting/hoping for a first week of September update on 2019s to make decision. For what it's worth, local dealer also claims 2019s won't actually be available until 2019, so late start similar to 2018. Take it with the usual grain of salt. This is not a high volume/elite dealer by any means.

Correct. I think they're trying to clear out the last of the V6 engines before the 2019 switches to the e-torque like the 2.0.

The Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition is based on the Wrangler Sahara model and features Rubicon hood and steel bumpers with removable end caps, aggressive 32-inch mud-terrain tires, LED headlights and tail lights, a Moab decal on the hood and 17-inch Rubicon wheels painted in Low-Gloss Black. The headlight surrounds, grille throats and tow hooks are also painted Low-Gloss Black. Wrangler Rubicon rock rails are standard on the Wrangler Moab Edition, but Sahara side steps are available at no additional charge. A body-color hard top is standard, but the Dual Top Group or Sky One-Touch power top are also available.

Wrangler Moab Edition is available in nine colors: Granite Crystal, Billet Silver, Punk’n Metallic, Mojito!, Black, Bright White, Sting Gray, Ocean Blue Metallic and Firecracker Red.

The only "cosmetic" features are the Rubi hood and painted wheels, both of which look cool. Seems like a good, special edition to me with the majority of the package being functional. Ordering! Who wants a loaded out Granite Sahara with low miles and Rubi wheels??

Looks nice, aggressive Rubi look, but with full-time 4wd and without having to get the 4.10 ratio.

Almost all of those features would be options I would tick anyway.

However instead producing Special Editions, I wish Jeep would hurry up and produce right hand drive Wranglers. Australian dealers say delivery has been pushed back to January 2019!

I like it. Lockers are great for rocks but for what we use our Jeep for a limited slip is fine. Ditto the Selec-trac. Next year we move back to the NC mountains and it's nice to have a transfer case that handles the sunny side and shady side of mountain roads. Our Sport will do just fine but I'm glad Jeep is making special editions. That means they are making money, and that's good for all of us in the long run.

I like the MOAB and would consider it but I am not happy about having to get this as a compete package (kudos, though, to FCA for knowing how to upsell). OK, it's the wheels I like the most! But, for me, I really don't want to pay for extras like Nav, Safety Group, Keyless Entry, etc. I wish I could use that money to go towards the Cold Weather package and Dual Tops.

I'm trying to save my pennies for a JLUR but have to consider that being in the Northeast -- and wanting the JL for something less than hardcore crawling -- I like the idea of Select-Trac for winter and the higher gearing (the JLUR gearing is actually too low for around here). I think the 255/75R17 tires are a good compromise between on and off road use.

Note: I am confused about the bumpers. The Official Jeep Press Release, etc., mentions that it "features Rubicon hood and steel bumpers" (plural) but other places mention just the front bumper. I can't tell the difference from the looks as to whether the rear is steel or non-steel.

Also, I had hoped it would come with some kind of special interior along the lines of:

I can't understand why FCA doesn't ask my opinion ahead of time!
