Any word on if it gets upgraded axels?

It is a 2018 JL, not a 2019. It is a package from the Sahara platform. The MSRP of the package is $10,905 plus 2,000 for the automatic trans =$12,905 from a BASE Sahara
As others have said above, it is a loaded to the max Sahara with some desired Rubicon accents, but it also adds many premium options in the package that not everyone would necessarily want. Here is a condensed list of all forced options in the package.

adding only COLD WEATHER Group puts the sticker at 53,690
not many more options available other than DUAL TOP Group, as you can read above, the package forces nearly every option.
I imagine Sahara drivers wanting the Rubicon look of the vented hood, larger tires with black wheels will love this Special Edition, but all of it comes at a Rubicon price tag.Rubi drivers will stick with a Rubi.

Well then I’ll likely keep my Rubi that is on order, though this is really tempting.

I thought the anti spin gave you the heavier rear axle?
With it forcing the selec trac, I think it will have cv joints in the front instead of universal joints. That makes a difference to some people, universals are easier to repair in the field.

I'm no mechanical specialist on the axle specs. It could be heavier but I'm not sure. I do not believe the axle is any different than a Sahara with SelecTrac and Anti Spin. The joints I would assume are the same as if a Sahara had the Selectrac and Anti Spin. The above post was exactly what was listed in the package specs under a Sahara build. All in all looks like a loaded Sahara with the desirable Rubicon cosmetic aspects, and blacked out accents.

I wonder if they will limit color options for the MOAB edition?

I'm surprised that a "Moab" edition would not at least have a rear locker. I guess it should be called the "Chicken Corners" Moab edition. It does sound very nice, though. It would be a really nice overlanding rig.

Hmm.... As someone who has been on the fence about whether to buy a Sahara or a Rubicon, this model might just be perfect. If I can get it in Ocean Blue, I'll be sold. All of the options I was going to select in a Sahara (Select trac, anti slip, body colored hard top, leather, most of the safety features), plus the more rugged wheels, bumper and hood of a Rubicon... all without the Red Dash board or tow hooks?!?!

How could I possibly say no to that deal. The Sahara I had priced out was already almost $53k, and I probably would have had to change the wheels and make some other mods. I've never modded a single jeep I've owned, always kept them bone-stock, which I know puts me the minority of Jeep owners. I just always felt like God made them the way they were for a reason. So this model would allow me to keep my mod-free streak alive!!

Being one of the heaviest JLs you can order, they figured it needed the deeper gearing of the 8-speed to lug all that porky weight around. :cwl:

There have been many vehicles sold with automatic transfer cases, but I can't think of any with an available manual. There must be a reason.

FJ Cruiser was only available with this type of transfer case with a manual. Probably because they didnt want people grenading the crappy 8" rear.

If it's built on the Sahara platform, does that mean there is no 2 dr Moab edition? Since you can't get a 2dr Sahara.

Is the front fender at rubicon height or sahara height? Hard to tell waybuonon that carrier. I dont trust thith mock ul graphic ones.
