I ordered the Metalcloak 4.5 long arm kit.
You’re planning 40’s right? I ended up passing on the 392. Wasn’t willing to take that much of a hit on a brand new rubicon x. I may still go 38 which if I order 3.5” I’m covered either way and then just regear to 4.88 if I go 38. Ordering the kit today

I vote 3.5 (even though you’re not asking me directly) if you’re actually going to wheel it on 37s. 2.5 if you want an aggressive look or are willing to do more mods to get the same articulation.

Metalcloak gives this very general answer on their website
“ A 2.5" lift is a popular choice for daily drivers who want to run 33" or 35" tires. It offers a more aggressive look and improved off-road capability without drastically altering the vehicle's center of gravity or requiring extensive modifications. A 3.5" lift or higher is geared towards more serious off-road enthusiasts who need to fit 37" tires or larger for tackling extreme terrain. This height provides more clearance and articulation but often requires additional components like a new driveshaft and exhaust modifications to maintain proper geometry and prevent binding.”

Ordering parts today. Gamechanger 2.5” or 3.5”?

Most likely just staying on 37’s.
I ran a 3.5" Gamechanger for a few years with 37s. I noted that the rear of my 4 door was sagging when loaded up for camping. I put 4.5" springs in the rear last spring. Works much better for me. Less dragging on trails like the Rubicon and similar.

My gut says 3.5”.i was planning the driveshaft either 2.5 or 3.5 so the difference is minimal. Per metalcloak I was adding the rear track bar bracket.

Most likely just staying on 37’s.
Personal take:
I got 3.5 inch installed this weekend. Im so damn happy I did not go with 2.5. Would have been low for me. Im on 4xe tho, not sure if normal one would be higher. A week ago id say 2.5 inch but now im on 3.5 side. Plus if you ever jump to 38/39(BFG) you have the springs already.

I feel like 3.5 with 37 is a lot of lift for that tire.

Exactly how I felt.

metalcloak might be different from mine. Plus you can always change fenders to create more room if you need if you go for 2.5. You do you. No wrong choice.

Here is two inch aev spacer lift vs 3.5lift. I gained l2 inch’s over spacer lift. I thought I would gain more but super happy that I did not. Love the look. Just right to me.

Here is my Wrangler with a Metalcloak 3.5 lift and 38" Patagonia tires. I personally think the 38" tires are the sweet spot. I was able to get full stuff without having to doing any cutting to the body, anything larger requires modifications. I did do a fender split which increased my up travel. I am very happy with the look and performance and would only consider another size if the 38" tires were discontinued. Maybe this can help you decide.

Why gears are you running? I ordered the 2.5” gamechanger last night and had decided to go 37’s but second guessing and seeing if I can amend my order to go 3.5” and just go 38’s on the 456 gears.

I am running 4:88’s which are perfect for all around use. 4:56’s are a bit higher, but I would run them with the 38’s first because it’s close enough that there’s a good chance you will like it. I bet if you contact Metal Cloak they will take care of you. Their customer service is top notch.
