Essentially having a block and oil heater can get you probably a million+ miles.

Do we all need block heaters now?

Back in the day it was a requirement to get your big chunk of v8 to spin with this 15w oil at -20.
I did use them on the 4.0 and the 3.8 to help them start but that is pretty much it. Even if plug for hours the 3.8 would do some bad noise when started and the 4.0 required double de pump and was still a rough start. The JL actually do much better in that field, maybe tha 0w doing it magic

The majority of engine wear occurs at startup regardless of ambient temps. For those parking outside during winter in colder climates, the wear is no doubt increased to some extent. Proper oil and regular oil changes will serve an engine well.

Amsoil in the engine and Amsoil ATF in the transmission and transfer case plus Amsoil differential gear oil in the differentials. My truck turned 30 years old this year and I’ve had Amsoil in the rig bumper to bumper since 2k miles on the odometer. Amsoil sticks to all internal parts and friction during startup is greatly reduced or eliminated. 30 years ago that was the best choice I’ve made.

Did you neglect the truck and only change the oil every 40k miles?

This.

The problem with cold starts is that all of the oil has draned away from the wear surfaces. Temperature is only a very minor influence.

They are on the short list after some research and learning some things about NOACK, HTHS, TBN, SAPS, ratio of PAO and Ester as well as how much Class III oil is in the base product.
