I did get lucky. She didn't know she was a Trophy Wife, and still doesn't. Everyone else knows, and tells me so. She's 58, and looks like a hot 35-40 yr old.And most never win the trick. Just remember, Brad Pitt, Steve Bezos couldn't keep a trophy wife........ An awesome 8 is way better than a 10 that is crazy, expensive, and very high maintenance like a manual transmission in a JL is usually not worth the squeeze.
Man you just opened my eyes to the fact that my wife prolly hates me. I spend all that money on my jeep and im not even super hot lol. If being super hot and spending all that money isnt worth it then im friggin screwed lol. While everyone thinks the 2drs are sexy, nobody actually wants one for a normal life. The 2dr love is not supported in real life. Kind of like the manual. Everyone says they love it, but nobody really buys it. In fact, most spend way more money to not have the 2dr or have a manual transmission.
I think it is like having a super hot woman and then realizing that the $200 hair cuts every month, $100 for nails, $2,000 purses, and $10,000 a year in cloths and shoe a year is just not worth the cost. Then having to cook your own meals just sucks.
Under the right circumstance$ this could be our winner. I mean it is on some very rugged terrain at a steep angle.
Can you please take a look at my eye, and tell me if you see anyone in there who gives a shit.Fair warning: Some people are going to get upset with this post. Me personally, I’m sad and conflicted. But also relieved.
TLDR: I am selling the Sexiest Jeep Alive 2026 on Bring-A-Trailer.
Instead of giving you a blablabla fishing for likes about how much I appreciate this community (which of course I do), let me instead give you some real, hard, truth about myself and the vehicle.
Here’s the hard truth about the vehicle: My rig had an MSRP of $61k in April 2025 when I bought it. Since then, I’ve put $25k in mods into it (here and here). That doesn’t include labor. The dealer trade-in value range is $35k - $39k. The private party range is about $3k- $5k more.
The hard truth about myself: While I did get to use it for what I built it for in Upstate NY and Vermont, I by far did not get to use it enough. My time and family-situation would not permit me.
I really wanted to be a guy living in Colorado, Arizona or Utah so badly. I wanted to be the one spending every weekend on the road. I wanted this vehicle to die in my driveway after 200,000+ miles. The Wrangler allowed me to spend my money and pretend to be this person for a little bit. It felt good. It was also stupid.
But I also wanted convenience. And like 80% of other Wrangler owners, I found myself in a pickle of daily practicality and desire. And I decided that my sunk cost is worth accepting.
I am lucky to be able to afford having built such a vehicle. And to not have to think much about the tremendous financial loss on it. Don’t get me wrong: I did a lot of it myself and enjoyed every single moment of it. That alone is worth everything to me.
Lastly, I do have to admit: I love this community. This was my 3rd Wrangler and the chances are 90%+ I will do it all over again in 2-3 years when the itch for “being part of something special” can’t be ignored anymore.
But yes, there are people like me. The worst of its kind. The ones that are only here for the moment, can afford that moment and waste it without much thought.
In about a week or so, I will post the link to the BAT auction here.
On a side note, farewell posts are like “Please delete” posts. They serve no one and only attract a flood of memes. So with this, I invite you to do your worst.
So what your sayin is that if I lose my rope off the dock it’s because I tied it too loose![]()
My 2 door works for my normal life perfectly fine. While everyone thinks the 2drs are sexy, nobody actually wants one for a normal life. The 2dr love is not supported in real life. Until it doesn't. You get a dog or a friend or a girl that want to go with you, or maybe a kid or two and then, it becomes like this is not working. Or you start wheeling more difficult lines and then the short wheel base that is great in the woods becomes a liability on the harder trails. My 2 door works for my normal life perfectly fine.![]()
Funny how that works.I have a 2 year old toddler and my wife says, correctly so, at the level of work I’ve done to the suspension, it is no longer safe enough to transport him in it.
I have had it for 4 years and no issues. Works for me. To each their own… Not everyone’s normal life is the same. I had a 4 door and moved to a 2 door for all its superiority and perfect fit for my life. Jeep on!Until it doesn't. Life has a way of changing. Heck you might even want to pull a camper that has a bathroom in it so your girl doesn't have to poop in the woods.
