@EvilJordan After talked to our enginner, I got some replies.
They already started the investigation on the factory side to troubleshoot the burning issue. We believe it's an exception.
We're trying to find some better material to drive the heat away, which can take some time.
Please confirm which firmware version it is. You can download and update the firmware to solve the rear cam recognition issue.
The dropping FPS of the rear cam should have something to do with the heat. Can you please send me a message with the rear cam video?

The firmware for the unit is the latest available:
Firmware Version: G900PRO_V2.1.2_250312
Rear Camera Version: WOLFBOX_ETH_04_V1.0.1_250310

To be clear, the frames are only being dropped on the display, NOT in the files, even at night when it's cooler out.

Turns out I was wrong. The jitter DOES appear in the videos. The display shows jitter AND extreme compression. This camera is a dud. I'm ripping it out and locating a non-USB-C version. The > 8 second startup time is also a no-go.

Here are some videos where you may say, "I can barely see the jitter," but it is absolutely there and causes an uncanny driving experience that *did not* exist with the old camera.

This is an old thread, but I continue to update it with my experience.

First, let me say Wolfbox support is fantastic. They reach out via email, they respond, they offer replacements/fixes, and they genuinely seem to care.

I ended up replacing the G900Pro with USB-C rear-cam with an older G900Pro with *non* USB-C rear-cam (this was tough to find because Wolfbox has discontinued the non-USB-C model) because the compression and artifacts and jitter and startup time frustrated me so much. The problems are now gone.

The non-USB-C rear-cam version definitely has less dynamic range and a grainier picture, but it's worth it to be a functional digital rear-view. I care more about safety and accuracy in timing than I do about HDR images recorded to disk.

That said, it's worth acknowledging if *really* cared about safety, I would remove my rear-tire that blocks my regular old normal rear-view mirror and just use that instead :)

I really wish Wolfbox would come out with a dedicated high quality 4K rear camera with the option to add several more cameras, but focused on a rear view mirrior

Three isn't enough?

I assume Jeep will eventually give us a 360 degree view, but I'm pretty sure that will need to be customized for the Wrangler and won't work for a generic system like this.

Thank you, as usual, for adding so much value to these conversations.
I forgot, you seem to think you're the Mayor of the forum. 🤣
