Hmm. I've wondered if that's the reason. I've never seen them glow/reflect light, and they often come to the road to lick the salts (with a lowered head). I've asked people that have lived here 40+ years, and their experience is the same.Moose eyes are reflective... they're just taller than the headlight beam typically and so the light doesn't catch the reflective layer in their eyes.
