Just today, dropped the T40 bit reattaching the front door perfectly down in the space of the front fender sill. There is a 1/4 inch gap and it fell all the way down to the bottom curve. No way to retrieve it without pulling the sill and fender. So there It will stay. Have to get new T40 sockets. Off to NAPA.
Need jack stands too.
Harbor Freight currently has a sale on Jack stands. I damn near bought a full set the other day.

I was pulling the inner fender liners to put some rock lights in, and couldn't pop the back fender off. I hopped on YouTube and some guy said to remove a couple bolts, then just give it a good yank and it'll pop off.

Ok YouTube guy, I trust you

There's a pop-pop-pop and I see little white pieces around (expected) and little black pieces on the floor too (uh oh). Turns out the white pieces held into the black brackets so tightly that it tore those out too. I took it back to the stealership, and the service dept said that definitely shouldn't have happened so they replaced it for $free dollars. Thanks CDJR for fixing my screwup!

Oh and I never did end up taking the fender liner off, I just used self tapping screws and went straight into the plastic. No issues a year later.

Forgot to take the jack stands out from under the jeep and spent so much time researching what would cause a spacer lift install to not add essentially exactly the puck size along with double checking all the fit and finish to make sure springs were properly seated. Turns out jack stands also add extra height to jeeps.

I'm notorious for placing tools on various parts of the Jeep and then driving off. Jeeps just have way too many convenient platforms to place things. Can't tell you how many times I've walked my neighborhood looking for random tools in the road.

I actually have to do a 360 degree pre-flight check if I've done any work anywhere near the Jeep. If I remember.

I left a wheel chock behind my wife's JLU after rotating the tires. I forgot to take it out (was dark by the time I finished) and when she went to leave the next morning for work she couldn't back out of the driveway.

LOL! I have left the locking lug key on the spare wheel on more than one occasion! I've been fortunate enough to find it each time.

Worst mistake was very recent. Went to HF to buy a cherry picker and got my neighbor to help me get it out of the Jeep and into the garage. While walking backwards into the garage carrying the box I hit the Flowmaster tailpipe from my son's Foxbody. It sliced my ankle open - had to get 5 stitches!

Very recently… installed a Warn rear bumper and bolted the license plate bracket on only to realize you have to mount the plate on the bracket before putting the bracket on. Can’t reach back of the bolts once it’s on. So my plate is zip tied on for the moment.

Ran wiring from windshield all the way thru the tailgate for a rearview camera, confirmed it worked, then while reinstalling all the trim I smashed the wire with the large bolt for the grab handle thus ruining the entire cable.
