Just repainting is the problem. New repair procedure is to replace the affected panels.
And that's insanely expensive, right? I remember someone posting the bill sheet and that it was shockingly expensive.

I'm really not understanding the attack on @TFL and Tommy on here asking for people willing to be interviewed. Very odd. Ya, they are researching for a piece for their channel.

I've been fortunate that after 5 years there's no signs of corrosion on the body of my 2019 JLUR, so I can't really comment on it.

Yep. On average, if you're getting the works, 4 doors, hood, windshield frame replaced, it's costing Stellantis 19k.

I sent you an email. I would love to tell you about our corrosion drama. I had corrosion issues on my 18' JLU Sahara and currently our son's 21 JL Freedom. I've read lots of reports and conflicting "opinions" some say it's the metal, some say it's the paint, others argue it is the primer or metal prep. Honestly, I'm not sure anyone knows!

It's 100% prep.

Tommy, like I think most of us who watch the various TFL channels, stick to featuring interesting cars, that's what we watch for. You all make some great content, but this seems off in the weeds. Personally if I saw a TFL show with obvious click/watch-bait about Jeep corrosion I'd pass right over it. It's the wrong sentiment to get people enraged just for the engagement on Youtube, and I think that's all it would accomplish. I want to see trucks, and C4 Corvettes, and Ford Expeditions, and all your great adventures.

I would strongly suggest you obtain the parts list as to what was actually replaced etc. So, next time it happens, you have this to refer to.

That isnt mine.
Who in their right mind would invest that kind of cash into a 7+ year old JL?

I dunno man, when it's your Jeep and it's just the way you want it, sucks to have it be janky or sucks to start over with a new one. Besides, if you traded it in on a new one or something you'd spend way more than $19k in the long run.

Agreed. @TFL literally mentions being a producer to conduct an interview for a YouTube video. What the fudge nuggets is there to be salty about? If there was no incentive, the internet would be awful. I mean we're tracked and targeted in the background all the time for ads, content, etc - so someone, somewhere (probably in China) can make money. TFL is up front what they're doing and that's a huge problem? Really?

Home - The Fast Lane Truck (tfltruck.com) makes very well produced content which takes time and money. I'm subscribed to their channel, does that make me evil too?

I'm often occupied, by many things, often at the same time
If one of the marketplace vendors asked for a donor vehicle people would be lined up. You know they ask for a "free" vehicle so they can manufacture a "for-profit" part? They "use" one person and give them a couple hundred in "free" parts so they can make tens of thousands in profit.

Or, what about the marketplace vendors that post their 4th of July sale stuff, so "we" can save $50 and they can make hundreds or thousands? What about the dealers that offer a percentage off MSRP or invoice, are they for-profit too, damn them!

Some folks are really self-righteous pricks, and it isn't TFL; TFL, who came on here with clear and honest intentions. Maybe we should drain the swamp, and get rid of the marketplace and vendor posts altogether?

I guess if TFL had a 10% off coupon everyone would be raising their hand to get picked for the story?

Quite wrong on this one.

The internet was filled with useful information and how-to stuff long before people figured out how to monetize every little pixel they displayed.

Good point. You just have to have the 19k sitting around.
Chances are, if you get new panels and it's done right, you should be good for many years.
