I'm curious.
Going back centuries, newspapers and magazines (business entities selling advertising space and getting revenue from unit sales) have been interviewing people without paying them. Radio and TV stations followed suit.
All of them that survived the digital revolution still interview people without paying them.
Why do people think they should get paid to be interviewed by the modern version of a magazine/news organization? There is no precedent for it.
