Has anyone had issues with their Banks tuner causing P0191 along with "Service Electronic Throttle" and putting it into limp mode? Had found an old thread about it but now the search function is saying it doesn't exist.

Happened once on the trail, got it cleared and has now happened 3 days in a row.

Bought a new fuel filter from the stealership and gonna give that a shot.

Pull it, see if the problem goes away.

I have been getting intermittent dash lights(ABS,service 4wd,ESC)that seem to only appear when placed in any other setting than stock. I still haven’t driven it enough since making this correlation to definitely say the issue is being caused by the Derringer. Either way I need to probably pull the Derringer prior to taking it in to the dealer. I only have about 4500 miles on it now and the issue really started the moment I installed the Derringer at about 700 miles. It was a concern but I was really waiting for it to happen more frequently prior to taking it in. I have a MC 4.5 game changer with a new front drive shaft and 37” KO2’s sitting in the garage. I’ve been hesitant to install anything until I figure this issue out. If it’s not the banks I would probably be ok replacing a wheel speed sensor at my expense if I got any pushback on warranty work after install but don’t want to chance it being something more. I plan to remove the Derringer this weekend and put some miles on it to see if I get any lights. I will update soon.

Did you adjust your PedalMonster setting while your foot was on the accelerator?

Twice I've had my dash light up like a Christmas tree with all those codes and then some and go into limp mode not able to come out of third gear a max speed of 25 miles an hour. Both times had the jeep flatbedded to two different dealerships. The reputable, better the two dealerships saw that I did have the Derringer throttle setup tried to duplicate the problem with the Derringer connected and without it connected. After many miles and 2 days they could not get it to duplicate. They were not convinced that it was caused by the Derringer but also could not find the cause. Since then, I completely eliminated the auxiliary battery. Knock on wood have had zero problems to date. I believe it's an electronic flaw, that's been around ever since 2018 in the JLs. My JK had a few, mainly electric window problems. But nothing like the JL. Overly complicated unnecessary electronics for a Wrangler, IMO.

I haven't had a chance to call Banks and see if there's maybe an update for it. I'm also not convinced that it's the Derringer, I've had it installed since I picked it up from the dealership and this is the first time it's acted up. I've also been having quite long extended cranks, which I doubt the Derringer has anything to do with.

Hoping when I do the fuel filter this weekend that'll clear up the issues, otherwise I'll uninstall and see if the problem follows.. Hoping my CP4 isn't on the way out or my LPFP.

Update -- Fuel Filter looked surprising good for some of the places I've had to buy diesel. Next step is uninstalling the Derringer unfortunately.

Have you called Banks yet? That link I posted earlier implies that they're helpful in getting this issue resolved.

I haven't yet, I wanted to try the fuel filter first as I've had the Derringer on for almost a full year at this point with no hiccups. PCM hasn't been updated, Derringer hasn't been updated, nothing has changed from when I picked it up from the dealership and initially installed it.

I completely uninstalled it and it fixed the issue. Haven't had a extended crank, any codes or complete loss of power since it happened. Haven't gotten back in touch with Banks yet.

Did you replace the cable that goes to the MAP/FRP?

No, when I spoke to Banks Support, they said if it came down to it, I'd have to send the entire kit in for them to test it and see if they can figure out what the issue was. Just haven't gotten to that point.
