Correction FCA did their job!

Hey peeps!

What is the correct procedure to start a claim with FCA....

I have a XR willys which was supposed to be shipped with Anti-spin LSD as per my build sheet and it was NOT. I have 15k in the vehicle already. I JUST found out as we raised the vehicle to put aftermarket diff covers and when we open the rear m220 we saw an open diff. We turn the wheels and sure as day both wheels spun in opposite directions!!

If anyone knows how to start a claum like please help!!

Although your order sheet specifies the anti-spin…did the window sticker say the same? If it is not on the window sticker then you may be out of luck.

They might just say ‘you are right, you didn’t get one and you didn’t pay for one’.

I am not an expert on all the models, but I thought all Willy’s had the anti-spin as basic equipment.

Yes all willys should have them and XR non rubicon has them as per the package. Window sticker says it as well... it just sucks!!!

Pretty sure one wheel spinning opposite of the other is completely normal for the type of LSD used in the JL.

If that is the case…probably need to double check and make sure you don’t have one before you open a case…

Or you can just go do a burnout and see if you leave two tracks or one. ?

LOL.. exactly what i tested... Post 4 talks about if wheel spin in different directions NO LSD.. and that is my case.... pluse we opened it and it is in fact an open diff.. LSD are closed and contain clutches and such...

All LSD’s aren’t necessarily closed.

The Wrangler’s clutches are between the carrier and the spider gears. Almost impossible, if not impossible to see them with everything installed.

The Wrangler’s clutches are between the carrier and the spider gears. Almost impossible, if not impossible to see them with everything installed.

The clutch pack (if you have it) does not apply until there is some resistance to the oppsite wheel.

My very vague recollection from years ago was open or LSD would spin tires opposite directions when both were off the ground. One tire on the ground would show if it was open (one tire spins) or LSD (would bind). A locker would spin both tires the same direction when they were in the air. Not really sure, just a memory of a memory when I added a LSD and tested it with one wheel in the air (on a jack stand) and one on the ground.
