I bought my first jeep wrangler back in June and I was very excited. Drove it for about a month and then I went to wash and wax it and noticed that some of the paint was missing on the rear driver side corner of my jeep. Upon further inspection in the sunlight there was a brown spot in the rear driver side door. I brought it to the local dealership and they saw the same and decided to repaint the back half of my jeep. I asked him if it was going to match and they said yes they scan it and it should match perfectly. This is how it came back. It was raining when I picked it up so it looked pretty good because everything was black. Then I looked at it in the sun .First picture is of the back corner where the pain was very thin and missing before they painted the jeep. The second picture is of the driver side where you can see the back door is darker than the front door. The last picture is of the passenger side where you can see the back of the jeep is a different color than the back door. I sent the pictures to the body shop and and he asked me to come in so they can see it in person. Sent pictures to the dealership and I am waiting to hear back. They are going to need to repaint the whole jeep for it to match. Anything less will be unacceptable

SMH. Yes, they need to paint all of it. I can understand if you had your Jeep for 5-6 years...then they painted the back and therefore it doesn't match...but cmon now...you just got this thing. They should've been able to "match it perfectly" as they claimed. Needs a do over at their expense.

How on earth did you drive it for over a month before realizing this?

The original defect wasn’t really that noticeable unless you really looked at it. It looked fine in the shade. ( which is where I usually wash it.) When I was wiping off the wax I saw it was thin. It was only a small section by the gas cap. I just got it back this past Saturday from being repainted.

From the first picture, it looks like granite crystal paint. Hope it gets worked out for you.

They repainted the whole Jeep. Looks great. I had them leave off the side emblems.

I'm glad you're happy with it but I'm surprised no one here pushed for a replacement Jeep. Having it repainted in part or in full is the last thing I would have suggested for a brand new vehicle under warranty. Repainting should be avoided if at all possible. It's the first and easiest thing for someone to notice later down the road. Unless you plan on keeping it forever, then who cares
