My dealer thinks it's 1990 and still installs garbage alarms on all their vehicles. Even more laughable is the $1000 they wanted to charge to "enable" it. Soooo, after taking delivery I see it's still installed on the Jeep and I really don't want this in there for a variety of reasons. Mostly I don't want to deal with it down the road if it ever malfunctions and causes issues with warranty. It's a Pursuit PLM Pro. Has anyone had any experience removing this from their vehicle? I could take it in and have it done but if it's something I can do in the garage it would save me the hassle. Thanks!

Not me. I've installed CBs and updated radios and speakers on older cars. Nothing in the new contraptions, though. ~

The easiest way to see if there is a starter kill tie (which it doesn't look that way from the manual) is to simply unplug all the connections and take the Jeep for a drive. A true alarm with starter kill will have the starter wire that is part of the push button start interfaced into the brain of the unit. From my perspective I would unhook it and zip tie the connections back, or simply cut the connections loose and use some connectors to keep the wiring from shorting on the underdash metal.

I would just take it back and DEMAND it be removed or you will complain bitterly to Stellantis. I would be willing to bet they are tracking you with it, either the dealer or the alarm company. So even if you don’t pay them, they can sell your data.

Yeah I 100% wouldn't have taken delivery with this installed.

Looks like its just jumpered everywhere… and basically is a signal interruptor.

If it were me… i’d find where spider lays its eggs, and start pulling the web anchors off your electrical lines. Doesnt seem like anything was ‘clipped’ and re-routed through the spider; if it is, re-splice back to stock.

The installation looks quite similar to the system I installed in my JKR 2 door. I doubt the control box has the ability to track you in any way, however, the downside is the generally sloppy splice work done by aftermarket installers. I would bet that the dealer did not install this alarm, as most have an aftermarket seller they work with. Your concern for future issues is valid given that the connections might, at some point, cause an electrical issue.

Pick a nice holiday weekend and park at the dealer. Fill cooler with beer and put in buddy's car. Have him meet you at the dealer. Activate the alarm and then lock all doors. Go to buddy's vehicle and enjoy the beers. Designated driver or Uber required obviously.

Maybe catch a video of the ruckus so you can post it here.

Which dealer did you say this was?
